This card has been made by using 2 different colour card and embossing a different design on each. I used crafters companion 8 x 8 embossing folder for the cream card and cuttlebug small embossing folder (which I used twice) for the blue card. I then added a ribbon on a slider across the middle. Using spellbinders "Romantic Rectangles" I cut one blue and one cream and stamped a sentiment onto the cream. The small blue gem completes the card.
This was created by using spellbinders "Grand decorative circles one". I cut out 3 of the largest size. (1 on the fold to create card). I then cut the next size down in pink and white. Then using a few different heart dies created the centre heart topper. The flowers and leaves on the edge are from memory box. The white satin bow and heart gem completes the card.
This card I feel is both dramatic and understated. I used white card and embossed 2 different designs. (both from crafters companion). The purple ribbon across centre was added and then the bow (made in separate bits) added to the middle with a sparkling gem in the centre and 2 pearl headed pins. The topper was made using spellbinders "Labels 25" using purple and white card. The sentiment from a rubber stamp was added to the white card using purple ink.

This card I was asked to make by my parents for their granddaughter (my niece) who will be 18 next week. They wanted a large card with the words "to our wonderful granddaughter" , but the design they left up to me. This is an A4 card with an image from "jems designs- Steam punk-the next generation". I printed it off onto canvas card to give a bit more depth to it. I used ice stickles to highlight areas- hat band, lips, earrings, arm cuff and garter. I used the cricut to cut out the lettering onto black card then I used embossing powders on the letters to make them look more metallic. Apart from the border scrolls in silver mirri card there is no other embellishment. All backed onto lime green card.

These two photos are of a mothers day card I have done for my mother-in-law. I think black and cream look great together. I have used Marianne - LR0242 for the central part. The corners are spellbinders "lattice accents". The leaves are from spellbinders "foliage two". I have then just added black gem swirls peel offs and a black flower. The lid of the box has the same flower and peel off swirl, but I have added X cut "xpress border die" on two edges.
This card that I have done, I have shown before, but I have now done the envelope with decorations. The edging is X cut "xpress border die". The central heart is a new die out from Crafts-too "Heart delight". I have added the word "mum" in peel offs in the centre of the heart.

Once again I have got my inspiration from someone else!!!!!. Wendy made a lovely card in black and white similar to this. I have done my version but in brown and gold. I have used Tim Holtz "sewing room" dies for the largest manikin and the next size down, the smallest manikin, scissors and buttons were from spellbinders "sewing elements". I had some tape that looked like a tape measure (which was a free gift from a magazine some time ago). Wendy used bakers twine to wrap around the manikin - I didn't have any so I used gold lurex thread instead. The "stitching" around the edge was from we r memory keepers roller ink pen. There are different heads that have a continuous roll and ink. The buttons in the bottom corner are real.
This card is a stitched pattern in the centre. I have added aqua beads/flowers around the design. The topper in the middle is from crafters companion cd rom "Angelica and friends". The white embossed card was also crafters companion 8 x 8 embossing folder. The silver corners are from spellbinders "Moroccan accents".

This is the notebook that I made at Christine Emberson's spellbinders academy. It is made using spellbinders grand labels 4 and decorated using papers from "life stories". A lovely day was had by all.

This is another cottage card/box that I have done. This one is for Sophia's birthday next week. As it is half term she will be coming to my craft group and her mum informs me that she will be bringing cakes for the ladies. So I thought I would make this for her. The teapot and cup and saucer is made from peel- offs onto card and coloured in. The cupcake is a rubber stamp. I have made them stand up by using a piece of card behind each one. The bunting is from the papers that I used to decorate (Lucy Cromwell). I just cut out a section and added silver peel-offs in her name (I coloured them first with promarkers).

A mother's Day card for my mum. I used spellbinders embossing folder "Garden Lattice". The centre is a spellbinders oval and also a spellbinders "Floral Ovals". The Floral Ovals already has a pin pricked edge inside the decorative edge, so I decided to stitch around to add the hint of colour. The topper is from hunky-dory. The flowers are spellbinders again- "delicate Aster" which is everybody's favourite die at the moment. I added cream pearls to the centre of the large flowers and a small pink pearl to the smaller flowers. I finished off with a pink glittery butterfly on acetate.
Another stitched card. The background paper is from "bird song" by Minday Teraswa". The 3 little birds are from Marianne designs "collectables- col1311".
The foliage is from spellbinders "Foilage" The pink flower I made by using 6 flat flowers, using one as the base, the other 5 are then folded into quarters and the first 4 are then added to the base and the final one is added to the middle. I inked all the flowers before assembly then using a promarker, added more colour to the edges. The lace and ribbon are the final embelishments.

This is a tissue box cover that I have just made to go in my craft room. My friend Sue has been making these over the last few weeks and once again inspired me to have a go and make one. I'm quite pleased with the result.

This is the Valentines Frame that I made at Christine Embersons'  academy yesterday. ( HOPE-CHANCES.BLOGSPOT.COM) I enjoyed making this, however, the little splodge of pink just below the butterflies was when it got slightly wet in the rain as I left the academy. It made the ink from the music stamp run slightly, but at least it is unique now!!! .The square pendant in the corner is a new technique that Christine taught us. It's a bezel from spellbinders, filled with ICE Resin and a metal buttlerfly in the centre. Once the ICE resin it is hard but smooth and makes a good addition to any project.
This card was from an inspiration that I got from Oysterstamps' gallery. It is white card with a silver layer and white/silver decorations. I used spellbinders Die-d-lites "Fantastic Flourish Three". I cut this out 4 times and arranged onto the silver card. Then I used Spellbinders "Delicate Aster" and Memory Box "Meadow Leaf" and "Precious hearts". I used a Martha Stewart punch for the outside edge. I added silver gems to the centre of each flower and used Xcut Heart die for the heart in the middle. A pretty card.

This card I have made for a friend of mine that I used to work with a few years ago. I have used jems designs cd rom "Yesterdays dreams". I printed the card topper off twice so that I could cut out the parasol and butterflies to decoupage. I then added a few sparkly gems on the corners and edges of the card. I backed it onto paper from the cd. All were stuck onto a 8 x 8 lilac card stock.
This is a combination of iris folding and sewing. I have done iris folding cards before but have always just added peel offs to the card. This time I thought I would have a go at sewing. I chose a design from Erica Fortgens. I did the same design top and bottom of card in matching lilac/mauve embroidery silks. The card is now mounted onto mauve paper and framed. I have decided to create some cards that I can frame and display in my craft room.

Well this was certainly a challenge. The other evening whilst with friends crafting, we looked on line at Oyster stamps. There was photos of La La land crafts. We liked the design of what seems to be a house with drawers in. When we looked for the die it turned out to be a kit that you could buy. We decided that maybe we could make something similar.....
So this is what I have created. I made the 3 boxes first, then made the sleeve for them to go in. The "roof" was a bit of trial and error until I had got the sort of shape that I liked. Then it was a case of decorating. I used Lucy Cromwell papers as they were double sided. The flowers/leaves are all from spellbinders "bitty blossoms". I used spellbinders d-lites window 2 and wrought iron, for the window and gate. I cut the gate in half and stuck onto acetate so that I could curve the gate around on each side of the window. The little girl was a rubber stamp from Sheena Douglas. I stamped it first onto white card. Then using a photocopier reduced the size until I was happy that it looked right. Then I used promarkers to colour it in. The drawer fronts were just some paper flowers that I had with a brad in the centre for the handles. The flowers on the roof were also some paper flowers that I layered up and then added pearl jems. I also added lilac candie in between each flower. Phew!!!!!!!
and now something more simple. This design is using a stitched pattern in lilac and gold. I added lilac and gold "spellbinders - delicate aster die" layered up quite a few times. I then added a dazzler which I coloured lilac using promarkers. The edging of the card is made by using a Martha Stewart punch- corner and border. I cut the strip into 4 with 3 flowers on each and added behind the card. I then finished off by added lilac and gold gems in the flowers.
A valentine card ready for my husband. This is simply a red card (8 x8) with a doily stuck on. I added a doggy topper(crafters companion- mulberry wood cd). I used pinflair glaze on the rose to make it shine. Then used memory box heart dies, x-cut heart shape die, and a small punch that I have that is heart shaped. The message is from Jems designs- fancy footwork. Finally finished off with a white swirl beads.
Another picture that is out of sequence.... don't know how that happened!!!! lol

Friday, 1 February 2013

These three photos are of a card that I have made for my niece. The shoe picture and the backing papers are from jems designs "fancy footwork" cd.
I love the black and red. I used pinflair craft glaze over the black shoe so that it made it look like black patent leather. I added black feathers in the corner under a dazzler gem. I also used black swirl gems on the corner. The aperture has acetate covering it with a black glossy paper as a frame. You cant see very well from the photo but I have added red beads that are suspended from red ribbon inside the top edge of the card. I finished off by making a black box with red embelishments.
