ENVELOPE CARD

This card I have made using the "We R Memory Keepers" envelope board. I made an envelope first but did not stick the sides and bottom part down.
I then added some card to make the side flaps- using the previous envelope as a guide by extending the angle so it was long enough to cross over at the front when closed.
I stuck some co-ordinating paper inside the envelope and used washi tape around the edges of the card, which matched the Union Jack image in the centre.
The final addition was to add a Velcro dot to the flap and bottom envelope to make it stay shut. At some point I will add a sentiment/verse. The papers are from docrafts - portobello rd. The papers had address/postmarks etc printed on so look very appropriate for an envelope card. What do you think?

Spellbinders Labels 4 Frame Card

This card, once again, has been made following inspiration from someone else!!!

I will, I promise, come up with an idea of my own, but when you see something good you just have to have a go yourself..... don't you ?

I have used spellbinders labels 4 decorative labels and the original labels. I have fed blue and white ribbon and added the sentiment and little blue star as the only decoration. I cut 2 frames out then stuck them together and slightly scored across top so the card would open out.
A note book with envelopes?????

The lovely ladies at Oysterstamps came to my craft group on Friday with some cards that they had made and lots of goodies for us ladies to buy. They had made a note book and instead of having pages inside used the We R Memory Keepers envelope board to make a several envelopes of different sizes as the pages. That way it could then become a keepsake book. I already had the envelope maker so of course couldn't wait to have a go myself to make one. They are stuck in at the spine of the book by making a concertina piece of card which is stuck down the centre and then the "pages" could be stuck into each groove. I finished off with a ribbon fastening and decoration. Thank you to Martine and Tracey from Oysterstamps.

Wedding Box

I have made this for my nephew and his future wife who are getting married in October. It is a kit from "Scary Mary". I found the instructions really easy to follow and everything is die cut and pre-scored. Once constructed all I had to do was add the decorations. I hope it will be something that they will keep forever.

As you can see from the photos it is a hexagonal box with windows all round. The wedding cake has silver pillars and silver bases. I have added clear gems and ribbon around and put white flowers onto each corner of each tier. There are pearl hearts and stars on the sides of the cake. On the bottom I have added their names and a silver horseshoe with the words good luck. A small  white flower completes the top.
Back to making cards!!

After the effort of making my quilt I am back to making cards. This is more my scene as normally they are quick and easy.

Here are my cards so far to date:-
A couple of stitched cards. Just 6 x 6 inches so not too big. Simply layered onto appropriate coloured card I have tried to keep the embellishments easy. On the card below I am thinking of either adding a shell charm or maybe add a sentiment. Haven't quite decided yet.

This card is stitched using a multi coloured thread. I used spellbinders die to cut the shape after I had stitched the pattern - luckily it fitted perfectly!!. I have added a topper and some tiny flowers to the bottom of the image.
This card I have made for my brother's birthday in September. My brother Mike is a volunteer at a tiger sanctuary in Kent  at weekends and recently did a sponsored streak through London Zoo to raise money for the tigers. This image is decoupage and mounted onto orange card. I had some tiger stripped candi and a white sentiment which I coloured in with promarkers. The picture doesn't show it but I added glossy accents to the tiger's eyes and nose which really make the animal to appear to be watching you! Quite eerie!!!
This anniversary card is also for my brother Mike and his wife Sandra. It will be their wedding anniversary in Sept. I got inspiration for this card from a card that I had seen on facebook. I have kept the design in white and cream using various dies. I embossed the backing card and added a white sheer ribbon across centre.

My quilt not quite finished... but nearly !!

Here is my Kingsize quilt almost completed. Please excuse the messy bedroom. I didn't realise how untidy my side of the bedroom is until I had uploaded these photos.

I still have some buttons to sew on at the corners of the motif squares. I chose  the same pattern to use in each of the squares with a combination of 6 different fabrics. I have 12 large squares in total of the pattern and 4 small corner squares as in the photos below. I used a zig zag stitch to sew design onto background and because I used pinking shears to cut fabric out I didn't need to have a hem. The stripy fabric on the front is the same fabric that I have used on the back. The 6 different fabrics have then been added around the whole design in strips.

Now that it is almost finished I can say that I enjoyed making it, although next time (if there is a next time) I will try and set up my sewing machine on my dining table as working in my craft room I found myself battling with the fabric as it was so large and heavy it was a struggle to feed through the machine at times.

NOTHING TO SHOW!!!!!

Just a short note to say that I am still here, but have not made any new cards of late as I am in the middle of making a throw/duvet for my bed (which is king size).  It has taken a lot longer than I thought it would as I keep putting it to one side as I am a little daunted by the size and the amount of sewing needed to complete it !!

Hopefully, I am now over half way through and can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Will show on my blog as soon as possible. Hope you are all well and still crafting!!!!!
