Here is a mannequin that I have just finished decorating. I bought the mannequin from indigo blu. The mannequin is made from cardboard and comes complete with a stand made from wood. Firstly I covered the mannequin with a thin coating of "Pinflair - Buffet in silver " which is a fast drying glossy craft polish.  Once dried I got an ordinary tissue and stamped some designs using purple ink. I then got some cheap P.V.A craft glue and applied to the mannequin where I wanted the stamped image. I then cut the stamped image out of the tissue and laid it on top of the glue and then brushed some more P.V.A over.  I was able to reverse the image (as on the front of the mannequin) as the tissue was thin enough, that when I applied the glue, the image came through clearly. Once dried I applied decopatch sealing varnish over the whole of the mannequin.
To decorate I have stuck some white pearl beads (which comes in a strip) around neck and waist. For the "skirt frill" I bought some curtain tassels in white, which I changed to purple using ink which I rubbed over the tassels to absorb. Then I put a strip of the red sticky tape across my craft mat. I then cut the tassel tops off and stuck on to the tape to now form a fringe. I then added another strip of red tape over the fringe to keep in one piece. I was then able to peel off from my craft mat and trim top and bottom before sticking to bottom of mannequin. I then added a strip of lace (again coloured purple using promarkers) over the top to give a neater appearance. Finally added a strip of purple gems.
December Card Challenge and my Blackwork Framed.

Here is my entry for the stitching group card challenge for December. We had to include hobbydots into the design. The black strips in the centre are hobbydots. I stitched the rest and added some "art deco" beads on the corners to complete the look. Backed onto art deco paper from papermania.

This is my blackwork piece now framed. Very pleased with the result.

A couple of cards completed....a owl birthday and a ribbon flower/stitched card.

These two cards are completely different. The first, an owl birthday card for my son Daniel, the second a stitched card.

The owl comes from a template from "Anna-Marie Designs". I have attached "googly eyes". The bridge that the owl is on is actually a cup cake case. It was in light blue, but I decided to use promarkers and colour it in brown.  The "happy birthday" and "Daniel" are dies from Memory Box. The frame is from spellbinders "Decorative labels 4".
On this stitched pattern I decided to use one colour thread throughout. Although the thread is variegated. I have used memory box "Tilda Swirl" die in the centre of stitching. The ribbon flower was made by my crafting friend Sandy. She was just showing me how to colour the white ribbon and then to draw the thread through and tie to make a flower. When she had finished I told her how well it would look on my card, so as a true friend she gave it to me. The background paper is actually vellum (taken from Making cards magazine some while ago). There are clear beads around the edge of the card, but the photo doesn't show them up clearly. I finished off using green gems on the corners of the stitched card and in the centre of the flower.

I like to make cakes.... but storing them in a tin so that they don't sit on each other is I was really pleased to buy this cup cake carrier from Lakeland. It holds 24 cupcakes - 8 per tier and each tier can be lifted off separately. These cupcakes I have made today. Plain sponge but added "berry sauce" in the centre (using a cup cake corer) buttercream on top a 3 x 1/2 chocolate buttons as you can see there are a few that wont fit into the carrier......never mind will just have to eat those ones!!!!!!!!!

2nd Xmas card made for 2014 !!!!

Here is another xmas card made ready for 2014

To be honest, I stitched this card last year, but have only just made it into a card.... so that counts as this year....right?

A small card (6x6) and kept simple white on gold. I embossed the card once I had stitched it using a Christmas bauble embossing folder. The gold merry Christmas is made using Robert Addams dies.

A couple of cards stitched.

Here are a couple of cards that I have stitched and made into cards.

The first is a bold colour way of oranges and bright blue. The image comes from Pollyanna Pickering. Just layered onto blue and orange card then mounted onto a blue backing paper. I have used two ribbons to finish off the card and added pearls.

The second card is much softer. Using pink and navy blue. The heart and love birds is a die from Marianne. I backed it onto pink card. The stitched card is then layered onto Navy blue card. I had a heart punch that I used in each corner of the stitched card. I then used the punch on pink card to enable me to use the little hearts as decoration. Using a pattern heart paper as the backing.

When I took photo I noticed that I hadn't stuck the heart stitched card on in the right place, it's not central......  That'll teach me for doing in the evening!!! lol

A Parisian Frame

Another item made using the template cd rom from Dreamees.  I used Debbie Moore papers to decorate the frame and added the charms and flowers.
A Lantern box.

I recently bought the cd rom "Templates and More" from Dreamees. Amongst the templates was a lantern box . I decided to have a go and make mine a boutique with the four seasons clothes and accessories in the window. I got images of clothes from google, and I attached "an outfit" to a mannequin (which is a die from Tim Holtz - Alterations Movers and Shapers.  I have also bought a new die from Robert Addams which are just shoes!!!. I decorated the outside windows all the same, using peel-offs. The edging on the lid is from Martha Stewart punch. The flooring in each season is different. Winter - I stuck some cotton wool in the bottom, sprinkled some glue over and added pinflair -iced diamond. Spring - green felt for grass with flowers stuck all over. Summer- a sheet of sandy coloured paper (husband didn't have any sandpaper for me to use) with small shells stuck on. Autumn - layers of leaves.

Just a bit of fun !!!!

A Couple of Cards....

Here are a couple of stitched cards that I have now made up. The first is a Christmas card kept simple. Once again, I have used an image from the Pollyanna Pickering card set that I received as a pressie at Christmas. Just mounted onto navy card and using a blue Christmas paper for the backing. I punched the corners of the stitched work with Martha Stewart snowflake punch.
The second card I think I may have got a bit carried away with !!!!!
I first decided to use the frame card - but when I placed the stitched card onto it , it seemed that it was "missing something". The design at the top reminded me of a lily leaf / art nouveau shape. I got the promarkers out and using yellow and greens coloured in that part of the card....too much....not sure?
I then stamped the remainder of the card with a daisy and leaf rubber stamp that I got free in a magazine some time ago. I coloured the leaves in green and added a white flower using spellbinders delicate aster die. The image in the centre comes from "Robert Addams - All occasion backing papers cd" which I received free from him when I ordered some dies. It is a lovely cd with loads of images.

An Autumnal card

I received, for Xmas, the "Mexican Tile Pattern" tile from Cheery lynn designs.
Also the "Pollyanna Pickering" card set.
I first cut out the die onto white card and was please to see that it cut beautifully and that also the middle section is separate. I decided to "have a play" using the middle section as a stencil. Using black ink I stencilled through the cut out 9 times to create a pattern.
I then found the image of the fox from the Pollyanna Pickering set and it fitted perfectly inside the main piece of the die. I mounted the cut out onto orange card and added the fox image. This was then mounted onto black card. I then attached to my pattern background and added the autumn leaves which are mostly from spellbinders, in oranges and browns.

A box of flowers !!!

Years ago, before I made cards, I bought a flower card for my mum's birthday. It arrived with fresh flowers in, looking a lot like the photo above. She really liked it, but once the flowers had died, she had nothing left.
So, I decided to make a card for her birthday this month on the same idea but this time I added papers flowers and embellishments so that she can keep it forever. I used an A3 piece of card to create the box shaped card. Then I added another piece of card for the middle box. I then added the flowers- which are paper, resin and fabric. I used green card for the leaf swirls behind the flowers. The embellishments on the front and inside add the finishing touches. A stamped message inside. I added the "happy birthday mum" which are dies from Robert Addams. I printed off a verse from a crafters companion cd rom, which I put on the back. There is a pink ribbon at the side to tie it together.  I
I hope she likes this one as much as real flowers !!!!!
