Mother's day Gift Boxes

Here are two triangular gift boxes that I have made to go with the flowers in pots for Mother's Day. I have added 5 Ferrero Rocher chocolates in each box.

What else would a Mother like but flowers and chocolates on Mother's Day !!

Here are 2 more cards using the Tonic Dies.

This card has the corner dies in each corner but kept in the card, layered on top using the same half cut out (not the fairy part) and flowers added across the join.
Again, 4 corners left inside the card, layered over brown card. Then using Spellbinders Fleur-de-lis squares added two layers and a sentiment and some brown ribbon and pearls on a string. You cant see very well in the photo but I used water pencils and very lightly coloured the embossed part of the large butterfly in each corner.

New Tonic dies and a guitar !!!!

I bought the new set of dies by Tonic -flower halves and corners.
These are the first cards that I have made using them.
The first is a stitched card and I have just used I half of the die with the outer edge cut out.....
.... the second is using both halves of the die but not the outer edge so that the card remains intact. I have just added gold mirri card behind and some peel offs around the edge.
and now for something completely different!!!.
This is from the template cd rom by Dreamies. When I saw the guitar I just had to have a go and make it. It took me all of Saturday afternoon/evening to complete and I'm pleased with the results, just don't know what I'm going to do with it now!!!!..........

My Second Mother's day bloom completed.

I have made a second flower ball in a pot, this time for my mother in law. Hope they both like them. This time I coloured the stick with promarkers to get a pinky look.

Delicate Aster card

Another card for my friend to choose from. This time, instead of loud, I have chosen a soft pink and silver for the colour scheme.
Spellbinders "Delicate Aster" is my all time favourite flower die. I love the simplistic way that you can achieve a beautiful flower. The background is embossed with flowers and butterflies.

..... out of all three cards my friend chose the bright pink blingey card.

Bling & Feathers !!!!

My friend has asked me to make a card for a 30th year old that likes lots of bling. Here is what I have made.

The first is fall of bling, and the second is full of feathers.

I hope she likes both and cannot choose between the two !!
I have used spellbinders dies for this card and added gems.
I have used Tonic dies for this card and added feathers.

A Double sided aperture card - (I think !!)

This card I have made after seeing a similar card in a magazine. It is a large card A4 size. The papers I have used have a zig-zag "stitched" look around the edges, which gave me the overall theme for the card. I decided to use metal eyelets for the ribbon to feed through at the front. The green ribbon matches the leaves & stem of the flower on the front. I also added some coloured candi at the bottom.
Using a die (X-cut) I made the apertures on each side. Once decorated I was unsure what to do in the aperture part. I could have had an image inside on the back of the card but to have it central would mean that it would be folded down the middle.
I then thought of suspending something from the aperture on wire....
.... but in the end, I decided to use acetate and glue the words " Happy birthday" on it. I used a Memory box alphabet die for the letters and scored the acetate in the middle before sticking the letters onto it, so that the card still folds almost flat.

I have kept the middle of the card clear at the moment so that I can add a message later, when I have decided who to send it too.

My eldest son's birthday was 28th February. He was unable to come home that weekend to celebrate but is coming home this weekend. Of course, being his mummy I have to make him a birthday cake. I bought these star wars silicone cake mould and chocolate moulds from Lakeland. Daniel's favourite was Darth Vader, who is the baddie, so covered in dark chocolate. His younger brother preferred Chewbacca, who is a goodie, so covered in white chocolate.

How I wish these moulds were around when my boys were younger....I would have been the best mummy in the world for making star wars cakes..... come to think of it, I AM the best mummy in the world!!!

My sons are 24 and 22 years young and still want a birthday cake made by me!!

A Hexagon box and a notelet set.

Using the cd rom from Katy Sue Designs "Fabulous giftware" I have created a hexagon box and a notelet set. The papers I have used are Craftwork Cards "Botanica". I found the cd rom very easy to follow and the templates are clear and accurate (not all cd roms can say this in my experience !!!!) I think the papers from Craftwork cards are stunning and work well with the red card.

A flower topiary gift for Mother's Day

My lovely crafting friend, Wendy, showed me how to fold a square of paper to make into a petal. Then by gluing 6 together make a flower.

I was so impressed I thought I would take it a stage further by making a "topiary type ball" out of the flowers.

It took 90 petals to complete the ball. I used 23 sheets of 6 x 6 papers which I cut into 3 x 3 squares.

I added black and clear flat gem to the centre of each of the flowers.

I was able to buy a black glass pot (in the sale for £1.49) which I covered the top with matching paper. I then added a co-ordinating ribbon and bow around the rim of the pot. The flower is attached to a gardening bamboo plant stake, which I coloured lilac using "Pinflair buff-it glossy craft polish"

The stake is then put into gardeners oasis to hold in place inside the pot.

I am very pleased with the result.
Card Challenge for February.

This is my entry for the sewing challenge for February. We were told which stitching pattern to use and on this occasion which die to use.

I kept mine simple and added two doves, a flower and some gem hearts for decoration.
