Q: when is a butterfly not a butterfly?

 A:When it's a flower !!

I bought the "Large Elvendene Butterfly" die from Britannia Dies at Sandown Show. It consists of 2 dies (each side of the butterfly). When done together it makes a complete butterfly (see top picture - bottom corner in pink). You could also just have one side and then it would look like the butterfly's wings were closed and you are looking from the side.

But, if you cut several pieces out and then cut the smaller section off you have a flower petal. I have cut 7 out and arranged them into a flower. I backed them in lemon card and added a centre die piece (Marianne Designs- see café crème card on a previous blog). Using Sue Wilson foliage and a striped ribbon, I have created a card on an embossed piece of white card that I have inked over in pink Tim Holtz distress ink, and backed onto pale green card.

  3. Hi Janice
Isn't it fab when you buy a die that can be used more than one way? Lovely die and terrific how you have made the flower on this lovely card.
    Have a great week.
