Same design - different colour

Morning all, here is the same design card as yesterday only in pale blue. Once again the photo hasn't picked up the colour so well. I have a few birthdays in Feb so I thought I would do a few quick and easy cards to build my stock up. These stitched and beaded designs are quick and easy to do, but I think look special.

Close-ups of stitching, beading and candi.

Have a great weekend, whatever you are doing (hopefully crafting !!!) x

A Stitched, Stamped & Beaded Card

Good afternoon, it's been a while since I've blogged, but here is a birthday card that I have made. I have stitched and added beads on the front, as well as stamping the image and adding "candi" the circles. The stamp is from "Woodware - JGS390 Bubble Bloom- Carol". I bought this recently when I went to the Sandown craft show. I have a few Woodware stamps so this is added to the collection.

The photo doesn't show the colour too well, but the beads and the candi are a pale lemon.

A closer few of the stitching and beads.

and a closer few of the stamped image and the candi.
Have a good afternoon and if you have snow I hope it goes soon. x

Success at Last !!

Here at last is a beaded success !!. This was a simpler design to follow, and didn't take as much time to complete. At the moment I have got it draped over a polystyrene ball as I haven't got a silver Christmas bauble.
It is a combination of pearl, pink, black and silver beads.

The flowers were made first, followed by the lower swags and then finally the top swags were made and attached to the other 2 sections. The hanging piece was made separately and will be (eventually) attached to the silver bauble.

As it is on polystyrene ball I have added pearl pins in the centre of each flower piece so that the flowers don't move.

Really pleased with this, I have also bought a beading loom look out for beading projects in the future !!! LOL !!

Hope you are all having a good day, thanks for all previous comments on my blog and see you again soon. x

Not everything in life is a success - first time !!!!!

Afternoon all, well I think I better explain the title of this blog - sounds very "deep" but I'm talking about crafting LOL !!

I mentioned in my blog a while ago that I was making a bead bauble decoration. It has taken several hours to make the components before assembling together..... when I started to put together I realised that I was about 40 small beads short, so I couldn't complete the project. So I threw the thing to one side and started on something else, which so far, is going well.

The bauble thing that I attempted is from this book and is the peacock looking purple one on the front cover.

Having calmed down I will undo and do some adjustments so that I can complete the project later, but at the moment I will concentrate on other projects that are a success.

This owl is from "Womans Weekly- knitting and crochet magazine". I seem to be getting into crochet a lot lately, having done a smaller owl that I have shown already. This owl is quite large and in the magazine it's ears were in crochet, but I didn't like them so I have done tassels like the smaller owl.

Here is all three owls that I have done, 2 crochet and I knitted.

On to my next beaded project and this is another Christmas bauble hanging decoration. So far it's going well.

I have had to make 4 of these, they are made using "twin beads". They were relatively easy to make - just needed to concentrate LOL!!

A close up of one - these would also look good on a card.

Well, that's todays blog done. Thanks for stopping by and if you would like to leave a comment please do. x

A Cute Crochet Owl

Good morning all. Todays offering is this cute crochet owl.
It was a free pattern via Deramores from Janine Holmes. Check out her web page wonderful creations from her.

This little owl stands about 4 inches high. The head and body is crocheted in one complete piece that spirals so there are no seams to sew up - only the base, once stuffed.

It is almost completely done in DC (apart from the feet) so easy to do.

Following on from yesterday, I didn't go to the cinema in the end. I wanted to see "The Imitation Game" but it seems I've missed it at our cinema... I thought it had just come out. So we decided not to go out to lunch either but to stay in and catch up on some programmes from the tv that we had recorded.... much warmer and cheaper too !!!!!

Have a good day. x

2nd Christmas Cushion - This time it's Santa

Good morning everyone, thanks for popping by. Hope you are all well & warm on this chilly Monday morning.

Today's offering is the second completed cushion in a series of 4.
The Father Christmas is done in a really soft yarn from King Cole. The pattern had numbers 1-25 across the belt, with number 25 inside the buckle, but I have decided to keep mine plain.
I've done a bit more of the beading work and it's now about 1/2 completed. I am going to try really hard and get it finished this week, as I need to start making some more birthday cards.

I've just bought a laptop to replace my old computer so I'm learning slowly how to access everything that I had on my old computer. I've had to use a different camera to take the photos as this laptop has the slot for the memory card - but the camera that I usually use has a different memory card so I will have to try and find the lead so that I can use it again. So apologies for the images -not my best !!.

Have a great day, I'm off to the cinema later today to see what's on with hubby. Might be able to get dinner out of him as well - if I play my cards right.

Thanks for stopping by and see you all again soon.

Snowman Cushion Completed

Good afternoon all, well doesn't time fly ? already nearly half way through January and I don't seem to be able to get back into the swing of things (craft-wise). I have only made one birthday card so far this year - lost my mojo at the moment.

I have completed this cushion which I did show a little while ago. On the pattern it had the wording "let it snow" embroidered across the front. I have decided to add snowballs. These are ready made pom-poms that I have sewn on.

I have nearly completed the second cushion in this set of 4 which is Father Christmas, so hopefully will be able to show soon.

Also I have been enjoying doing some bead work. I have shown a few projects so far this year and I'm presently undertaking a Christmas bauble beading decoration - which is proving to be quite time consuming !- I have spent about 4 hours so far doing this bauble and I think I'm only a 1/3 of the way done !!

Hope you are back into the swing and still have your mojo intact - I have also got to catch up looking at other peoples blogs - so will try and do so later today.
Have a good day - hope you haven't got any snow yet and if you have hope you are able to stay in and craft.

See you again soon. x

More Beaded Christmas Decorations !!!!

Good afternoon one and all, hope your day has been a good one so far and that the sun is now shining where you are. Here in Kent it has rained all morning, but now the sun is shining brightly.

I seem to not be able to get over the fact that Christmas is over LOL!! here I am again making Christmas decorations and once again done in beads !!!!!!!

This was in "The Peoples Friend" magazine a month ago. It has taken until now to source the beads out as I didn't want to buy the kit direct from "The Bead Scene Studio" as the kit costs over £12.00. I had the small beads but just needed to buy the 25mm bugle beads, which I got from Amazon for less than £2.00

It has taken a few hours to complete but I am really pleased with the results.

I must move away from Christmas now and get back to making birthday cards etc.

Enjoy your day, whatever you are doing and thanks for stopping by. x

A Beaded Snowflake

Hi all, I've been doing quite a bit of beading lately. I treated myself to a couple of beading books (Spellbound - Festive Beading 1&2) before Christmas and this is the first thing from the book that I have made.

Photographed in different places to try and get the best picture.

Hope you are all having a good start to the new year....see you again soon. x

Owl Clock

Good Morning everyone, and I hope you are enjoying your Sunday. I'm sure a lot of people had Friday off and are going back to work on Monday after the Christmas break....if that's you I hope you've had a lovely rest and enjoyed the festivities.

Onto todays offering, a little while ago I came across a web site called "". I sent off for their catalogue and once it arrived excitedly looked through all the pages. There was a varied selection of crafting goodies all at reasonable prices (needless to say and order was placed LOL !!)
One of the items that I bought was a M.D.F owl clock. It is approx. 6.5 x 6 inches big. It only cost £1.95. All I had to do was decorate !!
I had some lovely wrapping paper that would look great in my craft room. I tried to cut the owl in the central of the paper as it had a symmetrical pattern.

I added to circles of cream and grey card for the eyes and added googly eyes. The "brow" is a spellbinders die (fleur de lis squares) I have cut the corner off. The nose is a heart shaped purple gem. It was simple to do but now is on my wall in the craft room. The clock even came with it's own battery and hook...brilliant !!

Have a good Sunday and thanks for stopping by. x

A Beaded Christmas Bell

Good afternoon everyone. Well the Christmas decorations are all down and put away, and the rooms all seem bigger and brighter....(why is that?) but I'm still in Christmas making mode with this beaded bell.

A while ago in my craft group we all made a beaded angel. I was given the instructions to make this bell, which I made yesterday. Easy to do, if a bit fiddly, you start at the bottom and then just work your way up to the top.

The underside of the bell.

Have a great day and see you again soon. x

Peacock Feather Card.

Here is a peacock stitched card that I have made for my friends birthday this month. I got the image of the peacock from the internet for my background paper. The stitched part has been layered onto 2 circles of blue & jade card. I have added a real peacock feather and put the wording "happy birthday" and a ribbon on the end of the feather - that also looks like its around the peacock image.
A close-up of the stitching and the peacock feather. I have added a turquoise gem onto the stitching piece, as the head.

HAPPY NEW YEAR - 2015 !!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to wish everybody a happy new year for 2015. I hope this year brings you everything that you wish for, but more importantly, that you'll be happy and healthy and crafting !!! (I couldn't put wealthy, as I know us crafters will always be poor whilst there are such great crafting things to buy !! LOL !!)

My first completed project of 2015 is.......a Christmas cushion !!

The pattern is from "King Cole" and is knitted using dk for the cushion base and "King Cole - Cuddles chunky" for the snowman. The cuddles wool is extra soft and gives a great effect of snow. Some orange dk wool for the nose and some black for the eyes and mouth complete the project.

The original pattern had the wording "let it snow" embroidered across the cushion, but I have chosen not to do that.....I might crochet some snowflakes at a later date and attach those across the front.

On the pattern, there are 4 variations:- a snowman, father Christmas, a reindeer and a Christmas tree.  I aim to do all 4 for this year, when I've not got much on so that by December all four will be this space.

Thanks for stopping by and see you again soon. xx
