A Couple of Robins.......

Morning all, well today i should be at "The Cake & Bake Show" at Excel. Will let you know if i succumb to buying anything LOL !!!

Today's card is a Christmas card that i have stitched. The pattern was just a couple of birds on the bird table, but I decided to make them into robins by using brown & red threads. Then once i had done all the stitching i have used watercolour pencils to add some shading. On top of that i have added glitter.
Layered onto red card with a decorative corner punch on all corners and layers.
The Robin background papers ties in nicely. The Christmas tree is an old one from Spellbinders, that i have cut out twice. Once in green for the main piece and then again in red, but this time i used the off cuts and filled the gaps in the green piece. Then added glitter around the tree and also on the end of the swirls.

I have done the flowers in red, to give a feel of poinsettias (even though the shape isn't right -it stills feels Christmassy).

A close-up of the robins......but in real life you wouldn't find two robins together as they are very territorial. But let's pretend it's Mr&Mrs.Robin LOL !!!

Enjoy your day and weekend x

  1. Looks great Jan, love the stitched image, xxx

  2. Love this Jan it is so pretty, like the idea of shading round the stitching.

    Enjoy your day at Excel.
