Such a Cutie......

Good Morning to you all, hope you are all well and happy. Well, it's the last day of May today, this year is certainly going quickly.

Today is my friend Wendy's birthday and here is the card that I have made for her.
A combination of stitching, beads and general paper crafting.  The background paper and the topper are both LOTV.
I haven't used a die to cut the circles but have used some scissors that I bought years ago from Hobbycraft. I bought a set of about 8 pairs, each have a different cutting edge. To be honest I hardly use them but because I only decided to cut the card after I had done the beading, I couldn't put through the GC (or all the beads would have been smashed), so I decided to use the scissors. I drew a circle in pencil then used the pencil line to cut out. It turned out better than I expected (which sometimes does happen LOL !!).
Enjoy your last day of May and I will see you again next month !!! x

Wallet, Photo album, scrapbook ....thingy !!!!!!

Afternoon All, hope you are all well and happy.

My son has returned to Oxford now, so I'm back in the craft room and crafting away to my heart's content !!!!!

This booklet - wallet - or whatever you want to call it comes from Tattered Lace magazine.

I meet up with three friends on a Wednesday night and we decided to make this. It took me 2 sessions to complete.

It has several sections inside to enable you to add photo's or journaling. Each pocket has a inner piece to write on. There are also tags (circles and rectangles) that have decorated on one side. I used a colour combination of pink, cream, kraft card brown and yellow.
Have a great weekend. Weather not too good here in Kent at the moment...a bit overcast. Hope it's sunnier where you are. x

Day 3 and still it's Sue Wilson Dies...LOL !!!!!

Morning all, hope you are well and happy. Today is the final day of my 3 day event.....(This is of course if the scheduling has worked and today is Thursday 28th LOL !!!).

This card has used different dies from the last two days but are still Sue Wilson.
I have used the weaving dies in teal and white but not weaved them. Instead I have stuck them down in stripes as my background. The centre panel (sorry don't know what it's called as I borrowed from a friend) I have done in teal and white then added a white oval for the sentiment.

The bottom piece is also from the French collection (corner, border & tag).
I have added small pearls across the bottom and also on the centre panel.
Hope you have enjoyed my 3 day event - the sentiment on this card is for you all.

Thanks for stopping by and viewing my blog.x

Day 2 of the Collection !!!

Morning all, thanks for stopping by to see day 2 of the Sue Wilson Collection !!!

A simpler card today, but using the same 2 dies as yesterday from the French Collection. This card is in pale green and grey with the added colour of peachy/orange in the background paper and flowers. With the central panel I cut the die out of grey card, then with my embossing ink pad I stamped the pad all over the cut out piece. I left it for about a minute then I got my cosmic shimmer micra powders I choose a collection of colours in greens and peaches and brushed across in diagonal lines. Then I used a tissue to buff up the card. A good effect that looks good in real life - not sure if the picture does it justice.
I then glued 3 flowers onto the centre panel and added a pale green bow. A small card for me (6x6) but a handy one to keep in my stash for any occasion.

See you tomorrow for the final day (for now) of Sue Wilson Dies..... x

A Three Day Event.....of Sue Wilson Dies LOL !!!!

Good Morning all, hope you are all well and happy. I have scheduled three days of blogs (which I am doing Saturday morning before my son arrives !!). I made these cards Friday night and stuck to two main dies. They are all Sue Wilson dies. The French Collection:- Auvergne & Burgundy.

This card is in teal and pale pink (not sure if the photo picks up the colour right).

I have used 2 embossing folders. The teal one is from Crafters Companion and I have used a craft knife to cut the curved slits in the corner for the pink embossed card using Creative Expressions folder to sit in. Then using a quickie glue pen and some glitter I have highlighted the corner pieces of the teal embossed card and added glitter.
Two swirls in teal plus a Delicate Aster flower in teal and pink are the decoration on this card along with two layered ribbon across the centre and two sparkly gems.

Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by. Please come by tomorrow for day 2. x

A New Combination....for me !!!

Morning all, hope you are all enjoying this May Bank Holiday Monday.

It's another Christmas card made, but this time a new combination. I thought I would combine beads with iris folding. Whenever I've done iris folding I've always been at a lost at to what to put around the edge of the iris folding. Then I had an eureka moment and decided to add beads. I had a pattern that was quite small, so I enlarged the pattern on my photocopier so that the smallest circle was just a tad bit bigger than my aperture (for the iris folding).

I have kept the colour palette simple with golds, creams and whites.

Hazel has asked where I get the patterns from. I buy them from "Annspaperart" and "creatiefzijnmet" which is a dutch company. Also you can buy patterns from "The art of craft" which is in this country. Hope that helps Hazel.

I made the top of the bauble out of gold mirri card and scored lines on it.

See you again soon, and thanks for stopping by. x

Watch Out this card's been
"BLINGO-ED".............LOL !!

Good Morning All, sorry to dazzle everyone so early in the day LOL !!

I certainly went O.T.T. with this card....although it started out so simply LOL !!

Most of my stitching on card is done on linen card. I usually cut the A4 card into 2 squares which leaves an off cut. These off cuts I can make into book marks, or small borders. With this thin strip I decided to extend the pattern that I had so that it fitted the length of the card (7 3/4 inches). The pattern was a simple design but it has 8 small beads per segment - which turned out to be 104 beads!

I then decided to use the Sue Wilson Gemini Dies- Cygnus on some pale pink mirri card. Because the die is only 6 1/4 inches long I had to extend it to match my stitched piece. Well, somehow in the process of doing this on both sides I had marked the mirri card with the GC board edges, so I decided to then emboss the piece with a paisley embossing folder. Was very pleased with the result, but being pale pink it needed something dark behind to show off the pattern - of course black is the answer !!. So then I had to back the stitched piece onto black as well.

Luckily for me I found this decoupage topper that matched perfectly and I love art deco.... I even feel that the die is quite art deco-ish.
I then went totally O.T.T. and added pale pink gems all around the image and onto the die piece.

But I have to say I love it !!!!!

I think I need to lie down in a darkened room to rest my eyes !!!! x

A Simple Christmas Card....

Good Morning All, hope you are all enjoying the start of the Bank Holiday weekend.

My Son will be arriving this evening for a visit, so I will be out of the craft room for a while. Hopefully, I have been able to schedule some posts for the coming week....please keep popping by for a look.

As the title of today's blog states, this is a very simple Christmas Card. Very little stitching and beading, but a lovely design. The LOTV topper once again fits perfectly with the card.

The flowery sequins that I have used in the centre of the stitching are brilliant !!!, hold the card one way and they look red, move the card and they look green. Hence, I have used green mirri card to layer my pieces and also have used a green bead in the centre of the flower.

I haven't put a sentiment on this card as yet.....not quite sure where I want to put it, was thinking of the bottom left hand corner .....will have a little play at a later date.

Enjoy your weekend. x

Mrs Hedgehog......

Morning all. Today's card is a combination of stitching, beading and card decorating !!

This pattern is a simple stitched one, but the addition of beads adds something to it to make it more special.

Once stitched and topper found, I decided to add "candi" to the points of the stitching. I have layered the stitched piece onto a gold mirri circle. The patterned paper is actually flocked paper and has a lovely feel to it. This piece I have also layered with gold mirri card. The little sentiment is from the same collection as the topper from Crafters Companion.
Have a good day today and enjoy your bank holiday weekend. My son is coming home for a long weekend so not much crafting will be done next week LOL !! x

2nd Father's Day Card....

Good Morning all, a short and sweet blog today. Here is the 2nd Father's Day card that I have made. Very similar in design to the one that I made for my dad, this one is for my ex- F.I.L.

Pale green and silver are the colour ways on this card (not sure if the photo shows it very well).

The topper is Hunkydory (I think) !!

The wording is Robert Addams dies.

Have a good day and see you again tomorrow !! x

A 70th Birthday Card for Carol.

Good morning all. Todays card is a 70th birthday card for Carol. She is a friend and fellow member of my craft group. As she also does stitching on cards it seemed only right that i did a stitched and beaded card for her birthday. A simple design, that once the beads are added , is transformed into something more stunning.

I cut my card out first, using a tonic die before i added the beads on.....Top tip this , because if you try and run it through your cutting machine once the beads have been added, as you turn the handle, you hear a lovely crunching sound and when your card appears out at the other side ALL your beads are smashed !!!
A valuable lesson learnt !

Back to the card, I have used a LOTV topper of a little girl wearing her mum's shoes and hat and looking in the mirror, which give me the idea to use another tonic die of a mirror, which i cut out in pink mirri card. I then cut an oval out of silver mirri card for the glass part and stuck it over the pink cut out. I have put 70TH onto the mirror.
For the wording "Carol" i have tattered lace art deco alphabet dies.

First Father's Day card done...

Good Morning all, hope you are all well and happy. Thanks for stopping by each day to visit my blog, I hope you like what you see and feel inspired yourself to have a go at creating something. It's lovely to "loose yourself" for a few hours just crafting.

Now today's card is a very simple card. It's for my dad for Father's Day.....yes I know I'm early, but sometimes it's nice to get ahead !!!!.

A simple topper (I think it's Hunkydory) on a gingham background, with 2 ribbons across as decoration.....(might add a gem on here - not sure yet!!!). The wording is Robert Addams dies.  The yellow and blue combination is quite striking....what do you think?
Enjoy your day, thanks for stopping by and I will hopefully see you again soon. x

An 18th Birthday card....with stand.

Good Morning all, thank-you for your birthday wishes from yesterday. I had a lovely day.
Today's card is inspired from some new dies by "Crealies" they are called patchwork dies and have circle, square and octagon in shape.

I have just ordered the octagon shaped ones and look forward to creating cards when they arrive.

However, when I looked at the design of the circle one, I thought I could achieve the same look without the die, just by using my circle dies and cutting them in the same way. So I created a circle card as my base. Then I cut 3 circles of decreasing sizes. The largest one was the easiest to cut as I could decided myself, where I wanted the divisions. The other two circles were slightly more complicated, in that I had to make sure I cut them in the right place to work out right. Once cut, it was just a case of layering up and then decorating. I had this swirl peel off in peach and pale blue, which just draped across the largest segment perfectly.

I have added candi in pale blue and wording in peach mirri card.

It will be for my niece's 18th birthday which is in August.

Have a good week, thanks for stopping by and come again soon. x

It's my Birthday Today.....hip, hip, hooray !!!!!

Good Morning all, hope you are all well and happy today. Yes, it's my birthday today, which my nephew and cousin's daughter also share with me. So instead of showing a card that I have created, instead, I will show you some of the cards that my crafting friends have made for me. I go to 2 craft clubs where I have met some lovely ladies over the years and am delighted in the effort that they have gone through in making me a card. I really appreciate their kindness and friendship.

Thank you. x

A Sewing Machine Card....

Good morning.... today's card is a little bit different to a normal card. My good friend Sue is celebrating her 70th Birthday today, so i thought i would do an extra special birthday card for her. A keen seamstress i decided to make a sewing machine shaped birthday card for her.

I made the sentiment appear to be the stitched piece on the machine. I added some "faux stitching" around the edge of the piece of paper as well as actually sewing a design on the paper. I have tried to make it seem that the sewing machine is threaded up with real thread and carries onto the piece of "fabric", which is the piece of paper.

For one of the dials i have cut a circle and also a scalloped circle and joined together with a brad so that the circle turns. I have added peel-off numbers and symbols which you would find on a real sewing machine.
I had some small sewing embellishments which i have stuck to the front of the machine. The tape measure is actually ribbon which i have rolled up to make it look like a small tape measure.
A close-up of the threaded machine.
I made a small cotton reel with thread wound onto which i then have threaded through the machine.

I really enjoyed making this card and i hope she will like this card.

Have fun today, what - ever you are doing. x
