Book Folding for a Friend.....

Morning all, hope you are all well and happy on this last day of 2015.

Well, I managed to finish this book fold for my friends birthday, which will be on 16th January. I've decorated inside and out with the same paper, but in reversed colour ways (inside there are red flowers on white background - outside there is white flowers on red background).

I've added a strip of red card with lace attached across the front to hold the book open in place.
I've used the left over papers to make a folded flower, with a dazzler in the middle.
I haven't stuck it on yet, nor are there are decorations on the front....waiting for a while to see if i come up with any other ideas.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL . SEE YOU AGAIN IN 2016 - LET'S HOPE IT'S A GOOD YEAR FOR US ALL. XXX

Happy Birthday Dad.....

Afternoon all, a quick blog today. It's my dad's birthday today. He is 78 years old today. This is the card that I made for him. I've shown this here before, so just a reminder.

I've been busy doing a book fold for my friends birthday for January. Tune in tomorrow to see it hopefully finished.

Have a good day, if you're out and about in the sales.....I couldn't be bothered this year, and am enjoying being indoors all day (apart from dog walking !!). I've taken the opportunity to sort out a few cupboards and have now got things on ebay to sell !!!!

See you again soon. x

Keeping in touch.........

Afternoon all, hope your Christmas has been great and that you've all received fab presents. I have been a lucky girlie this year, with lots of craft inspired presents. I received two books about crochet from my youngest son, a book folding cd rom from hubby, and a couple of kits that I can't wait to start.

My eldest son goes home tomorrow, so I will have my craft room back again.
I've been trying to do some more of my cross stitch work, that I started about 18months ago, but keep getting side tracked.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all of you that regularly check out my blog and leave comments. It's nice to know that you're out there and like what I'm doing.

And secondly, I would like to wish you all a happy new year. I've had a brilliant year, I've been very lucky and have been able to craft as often as I wanted to.  I've got some wonderful friends that I share my crafting with, who inspire me and make me laugh too !!!!

I'm hoping 2016, will be just as great. X

Last Minute Makes.......

Good Morning all, Firstly I would like to wish you all a "VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS", hope you are all enjoying the big day.

Secondly, here is a last minute make that i completed Xmas Eve.

Saw this in "Papercraft inspirations issue 146", and just had to make them. If I had enough time I would have make them out of felt. But as i only decided to make them Xmas eve, i didn't have enough time.....but maybe for next year ???

I've cut them out of Christmas paper (quite thick) with a co-ordinating patterned paper on the back. Decorated with reindeers, poinsettia, and a name tag.

One each for all of us to use on Boxing day.

Thank you all for popping by and leaving comments. If I don't do any more blogs this week, happy New Year. xxx

Reindeer dog biscuits......!!!!!!!

Morning all, well it had to be done......Rolo's special Christmas treat......Reindeer dog biscuits !!!!!

If any of you have been watching "Kirstie's homemade Christmas" programme, you would have seen her making some dog biscuits.

I forgot to take a note of the recipe, so had to look on google for a recipe. I had also bought a reindeer and sleigh cookie cutter from aldi £2.99, so i decided to try it out on the dog biscuits.

I combined flour, gravy granules, egg and water to make the dough.
I had to use cheese spread to join the parts together and also for them to stand up, otherwise they wont keep together. I had some spare bits of dough that i formed into cubes and cooked. Rolo has tried one of these and likes them !!!!!

Have a good day. x

Book Folded Vase.....

Morning all, a bit late with the blog today. I thought i had scheduled something for today, but it was for tomorrow instead !!

So a quick blog today.

Here is a book folded vase - as yet un-decorated.
This was an easy fold  - consisting of two pages, with a few folds per page. It stands at about 9.5 inches high and 8 inches across the flat top, so quite big.

I am going to buy some artificial flowers for the top. So tune in again to reveal the decorated vase.

Have a good day..... only 3 more sleeps x

Christmas cake iced and ready to go !!!!

Afternoon all, well it's the countdown to Christmas now.....I've been and done my final supermarket shop (unless I've forgotten anything, then it will be a quick dash to the local co-op!!), the presents are all wrapped and now it's time to decorate the Christmas cake. The above photo was taken about 5 weeks ago when i was just about to put it in the oven.......

Lovingly fed it a spoonful (plus) of brandy each week.........

.....and now it's iced and decorated. Nothing too fancy as my lot don't like too much icing (as it's too sweet).

Hope you all have a un-stressful time in this run up to Christmas, and thanks for popping by today. x

Christmas Flowers from the girls.......

Morning all, well this is the last weekend before Christmas. I hope you're all prepared!!!!

Yesterday, was the last day at the craft club. We had a little party, with nibbles, secret santa and lots of laughs.

These flowers were presented to me from the girls in the Tuesday club, as a thank you for co-running the club with Sue (who also got flowers).

A lovely floral display, that i will try my hardest not to kill off before Christmas and hopefully into the new year LOL !!!

A great group of ladies that share their knowledge, enthusiasm, and kindness through-out the year, so thank-you ladies. x

Baubles or Bonkers ? .....you decide !!!!

Morning all, well what a statement LOL !!!!!

Let me explain......

On a Tuesday and Friday I meet up with some lovely ladies for a crafting session. Most of them attend both days, so we have a Christmas party for the joint groups normally on the last Friday before Christmas.

In recent years some of the ladies have donned fancy dress, but this year we have decided to wear a festive jumper and a hat.

I thought i would make my headwear this year. I had a plastic headband, so i glued poinsettias, baubles and bells onto it using a glue gun..... I'm just hoping it stays glued on LOL !!!!

I've posted my Christmas cards and wrapped my presents. Doing the last major food shop today and next week will only pop out if absolutely necessary !!!!

It's almost time to relax and enjoy some festive spirit (make mine a baileys !!)

Hope you're all nearly done and can put your feet up soon. x

Another small card.....

Morning all, another small, stitched card today.

The image is from LOTV, which i have cut down to fit in the centre of this card.
This card does have a few beads on, couldn't resist.....some habits are harder to break LOL !!!

Back to Normal....stitched cards!!!!

Morning all, hope you had a good weekend. I thought it was about time i did some stitched cards, as i haven't shown any lately.

A quick stitched card, that should have beads sewn in between the stitching rows, but i decided to omit them this time.

Having just posted my Christmas cards (some of which had beading) i found out that 8 X 8 cards with beading on cost a lot to send in the post!!!!

So i have decided to do a few smaller cards without beading on, for the ones that I have to post, but keep the larger ones with beading for the hand delivered cards.

This card is 6 x 6. Apart from the little bit of decoupage on, had no other embellishments.

Hope you have a good week, thanks for stopping by. x

Snood/Scarf......

Morning all. First, I must apologise for the following images, please look away now if you're of a nervous disposition LOL !!!!!

It's hard to take a good photo of oneself, my arms are just not long enough!!!

Anyhow, this is my scarf/snood that i have knitted to match my jacket & hat. I could have knitted it longer, but decided that i had, had enough of knitting and was itching to start something else.

Once i had the knitted the scarf, i twisted it once and then sewed the ends together.
It can be worn in several ways. As a scarf........ (too many double chins for my liking!!)
 ..... as a neck warmer.........
......or as a snood.

This last photo is a bit blurred, but you get the idea.

By the way,,,,,,,,,,,,,i look a lot younger in real life LOL !!!!!!!!!!

Have a good day. x

"3 little boxes"..........

Here are 3 little boxes that I've made ready for Christmas presents. I can't show you what's inside yet.....will have to wait until after Christmas.
I had some lovely embossed card stock that I must have for ages.....but it was "too nice to use"!!!!! How often have we all said that ???
Well, I have decided to not keep anything that's "too nice to use", but use it and enjoy using it.
I decided to add a poinsettia flower to each box, using the poinsettia die from Spellbinders. The silver "candi" completes the decorations. The photo below is slightly clearer.
The days are quickly going fast towards Christmas. Starting to feel excited, now that the decorations are up.

Enjoy your day, and thanks for stopping by, when I know how busy you all are. x

Christmas Tree Up.......

Afternoon all, thanks for stopping by.....

Just spent the day putting the tree and decorations up. Each year I seem to do more and more. This year is no exception, as I have decorated every room downstairs!!!!
The lounge (where the tree is) is in lime green and red, the dinning room is red and white, the porch is silver, the hallway is pale pink and pale blue, the kitchen is red and the conservatory is cream and gold.

To say I'm knackered is an understatement LOL !!!!

I've discovered two very interesting facts, whilst putting up these decorations:-
1: I seem to have shrunk by at least 3 inches, or the ceilings have grown higher
2: drawing pins have got harder to put in or I'm weaker LOL !!!!

Enjoy the rest of the day, I'm meeting up with friends tonight....normally we craft, but tonight we are going to start a jigsaw puzzle, and chat, and laugh, and chat, and chat etc etc !!! x

Knitted Cardigan/Jacket with Hat.....

Morning all, hope you are all safe and well.

Here is my knitted cardigan/jacket that i have been knitting over the last few weeks. I had enough wool left over to make this hat, and also i'm in the process of making a scarf too. I enjoyed knitting this, even with the cable pattern, it wasn't too complicated (although I had to concentrate !!) It turned out to be really warm and thick, so I will use as a jacket, rather than a cardigan.....but if we get snow I will probably wear it in bed to keep warm LOL !!!!

A close-up of the cable section.

How's the Christmas preparations going?....I'm nearly there with presents bought.....just need to write Christmas cards, put decorations up, buy all the food, wrap all the presents, keep the house tidy, take the dog for a walk, cook the dinners, wash-up afterwards......I'm sure there's something else I've got to do?????? I bet it's the same in your house too LOL !!!x

Morning all hope you are all safe and well if you live where the floods are.

Here in Kent it's fine, no floods but windy.

Just a quick blog, apparently some of you are seeing a lot of colour on my blog. I haven't changed the layout or colours, it's always been a side border of peachy colour. Don't know what's happening, but hopefully if you are seeing something different, it will revert back to normal soon.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. X

Saturday, 5 December 2015

Morning all, just looked at my own blog from this morning, and I'm sure I didn't type half the words that have appeared!!! Must have been google playing tricks lol !!

I hope you got the gist of what I was trying to say. X
The results are in !!!!!

After the Christmas after yesterday, I'm happy to report that it was a success!!!

I didn't sell everything, but had a steady flow of people by Yuri ing from me throughout the afternoon. I made nearly £40 which I'm pleased with. As most of the things that I took were things that I had made for myself, in happy to have them back again. I had a lady take my phone number as she was interested in the Christmas cushions, but didn't have the money at the time, so might get an order for some, you never know.

Enjoy your weekend. X

Today's the day !!!!!......

Morning all, Hope you are all fit and well today.

Today is the day of the craft fayre.
I have spent the last week frantically making more little bits that might appeal to children and adults alike, at a cheap price.

This morning I decided to lay everything out on the dining table, to give me an idea how to set it up later today.

(ignore the box of fosters in the top corner- Christmas supplies!!!!)

I hope I've got a good range of Christmas & everyday gifts and cards. If i sell everything on the table i will have made over £100.00. Although that doesn't take into account the number of hours it has taken to make them all LOL !!! Good job I like crafting !!

Enjoy you day and weekend ahead. Come by at the weekend for a report. x

....and there's more !!!!.....

Morning all, I'm on a roll now with my craft fayre goodies.....  I've been looking through all my makes in the past and found quite a few boxes etc that I've made in the past.
I've decided to try and sell them, if they don't sell, I wont be too disappointed, as I haven't made them especially.

To make these compartments, I cut 9 circles out and folded down 4 sides on each circle and then joined them together.

A hexagon box which is a template that I've had for quite a while.....I think it's from "Dreamees" but I'm not too sure.

and of course, my star box.

Enjoy your day.
