Blue Velvet.......

Morning all, Saturday here again. Going out for a meal tonight with my husband & my 2 boys to celebrate Gary's Birthday yesterday. Daniel, my eldest, didn't arrive until late last night so we booked at table for tonight.

They are both doing a 10k challenge race today at Tonbridge, so they will be "plum-tuckered-out" tonight LOL !!!

 On to today's card.

I did some stencilling onto velvet paper using a thick silvery paste (can't remember the make) some time ago, and come across it by chance the other day. How many times do we do this???

Anyway, i looked at it with fresh eyes and was quite pleased how it looked, so decided to make into a card. It's such a beautiful blue velvet and with the silver looks quite stylish. Kept the design simple, just layered onto silver mirri card & blue card stock, using Sue Wilson Noble die. (did i mention that it's my fav die at the moment LOL ??)

The sentiment on the front is a plastic bar with "happy birthday" etched onto it. I've had it for ages and it never seemed the right thing to add to a card before now. I had some silver ribbon that i've added at each end, this is also where i've stuck it down, as i didn't want tape or glue showing behind the plastic.
Phil Martin sentiment die inside, with the hearts cut out of the silver ribbon (which was more like tape as it didn't fray).

Have a great day, whatever you are doing, and thanks for stopping by. x
