Pick Up A Penguin........

Morning all, the start of the weekend is here. Hope it's a nice sunny & warm day, where ever you are.  Summer is approaching fast, so I thought I would make a penguin LOL !!!

If, like me, you look on pinterest, you will never cease to be inspired by other peoples creations. I was looking before Christmas at felt ornaments and saw a penguin very similar to the one i have made.  I didn't have a template, but i cut 2 circles in black felt. Then 1 smaller circle in white felt, which i folded in half and cut into it to create the heart top shape. Then I cut two feet & a beak  in yellow felt, and 2 wings in black felt. I then sewed on 2 black beads for the eyes and using blanket stitch, stitched the white piece to one of the black circles and attached the beak. Then with the feet & wings pinned in place, I did a blanket stitch around to join the back & front, leaving a gap at the top. I've added a small amount of toy stuffing, just enough to puff him out a little, before adding the ribbon and sewing up. He is only 10 cms (wing to wing)  9cm (head to feet). Only took a couple of hours to do and really pleased with how he turned out.

Will probably make a few more of these and put them away for little Christmas presents (never too soon to make a start !!!!!)

Have a good day & thanks for stopping by. x

  5. Hi Janice
    Awwww, how gorgeous and cute.
Suppose you could pop in a few treats instead of stuffing if they're gifts?
    Have a great weekend.
