Sorry....A Little Late.......

Morning all....(just!!), sorry I'm a bit late with my blog today. I hadn't actually got anything lined up to show today, but I had ordered this lovely Sue Wilson "Mini Striplets-intertwining circles" die, and it arrived in the post this morning.

So, I couldn't wait to make a card!!!!!

I cut the die using black card for my main frame, then cut it out again in red & silver mirri card. I used double sided adhesive sheet onto the black card, so that i could stick the red & silver mirri "waste" into it. Because I had used the adhesive sheet, I could then sprinkle glamour dust glitter over it. Then I stuck it onto the backing paper.
I cut two circles in white & black card and then 2 sentiments in red & black card. The sentiment is off-set to give a shadow.
I love the fact that you can still see the backing paper behind the glamour dust sparkle.

I can see me using this die a lot in the future !!!

Hope you're having better weather where you's been raining here in Kent since early hours this morning.....and doesn't seem to be stopping any time soon.

Last day of May.........roll on June and hot weather. x

Baby Cards .........

Morning all, hope your weekend is going great so far.... Bank Holiday Monday tomorrow....then that's the last one until he end of make the most of the day.

I didn't have time beforehand to show you some baby cards that I had made for the craft fair. They are all 6 x 6, and apart from using Tonic & Little B dies and a few embellishments, are quite simple cards. The backing papers were from a pad that i bought at a craft show some time ago. They were 12 x 12 sheets of all the same design....but the design was done in a patchwork, so I was able to use all 4 corners for my cards. I have used buttons, paper clay moulds, pre-bought teddy toppers & pegs and ribbons for my decorations.

These last 2 are just Tonic dies onto white card (using Sue Wilson Noble dies)  and backed onto either pink or blue gingham card. Simple but I feel they look good.
As to the craft fair..........

I had quite a good day. There was a steady stream of people who came in and looked around......sold a good selection of bits, so pleased. Made a decent profit. I'm doing one in a school in July and then more at the village hall later in the year.

I shared the table (and the costs) with a friend, so we had half a table each. This is my half......

her half.......

......and the whole table.

The Last of the Father's Day Cards.....

Morning all, hope you are enjoying the start of the weekend.

Today's the day!!!!! Doing a craft fair today (1st one this year !!). I must admit that I'm feeling a little apprehensive, as you can never tell how it will go.

I've done a couple more Father's Day cards that hopefully will go down well today.
The first one, I have used a topper from Hunkydory. I didn't have any suitable backing paper, so I decided to create my own by drawing a track that goes across and around the card. I have used my promarkers to colour in the grass and track. I added a small tag (spellbinders) for the "Father's Day" to sit on.
The second one is a golf card. Not much on this one, just a small golf button (that i've cut the back piece off - where you sew it on). The flag die by Sue Wilson has a peel off on.
and finally a peaceful scene. I saw a card that "Spanish Crafter" had done a while ago where she had cut up the topper and then layered onto card. It looked so effective that I had to have a go to. The LOTV topper has been divided into 3 and layered onto green cardstock.
I have used the other part of the peel-off that i used in the golf card and stuck on each panel.
The "dad" is a Tonic die. The wellies, watering can and plants are from a peel off selection from forever friends.

Hope mine and your day goes well today.....please come back tomorrow !!! x

A Work In Progress..............

Morning all, Friday again. Hope your week has gone well and that you are looking forward to the weekend.

The cross stitch has taken a back seat for now, as I've been doing some crochet. I made a cushion a while back using this hexagon pattern, but this time, I intend to make a runner for the bottom of my bed.
I think I will need about 50 of these hexagons to give me enough to do a 3 row strip. The wool is from Deramores (their own brand) DK wool, and I have to say, is lovely to crochet with.

Doing the craft fair tomorrow, so I will schedule a blog and then report back on Sunday on how the fair went.

Bye for now. x

MAWTT - Challenge :- Age related Sentiments......

Morning all, Challenge day today..... This challenge has been set by Jenny from Team B , who wanted to see "Age Related Sentiments".

I've done the little ditty "21 today". I went on goggle to find out the exact wording, and typed it out. I then used a X cut die to cut the shape.
The background papers is "shaving foam method". Sue Wilson first demonstrated this effect a few years ago, and i did quite a few and then left them in a box. I came across them the other day and thought how well it would go with the tartan paper behind. The keys were from Scrapbook adhesives and are 3d foam shapes, which i have covered in gold glitter.
2 strips of ribbon with a bow across the top and bottom corners, with a peel-off "21" completes this challenge.
Pop over to the movingalongwiththetimes blog page to see the other DT's entries.....or why not have a go yourself.

Have a good day. x

Back to Stitching......

Morning all, hope you are all well & happy.

Back to my crafting, after a week of showing other people's efforts LOL !!. Hope you all enjoyed seeing my birthday cards. They're still on display around the lounge & dinning room.....don't want to take them down just yet !!

Anyway, back to today's card. I bought an edge die by Nellie Snellen. The stitched edge is all the rage at the moment and I just love to use them with my stitched cards....I feel they finish off the look perfectly. I decided to do several layers using this edge die, along with Sue Wilson noble rectangle dies. Although the stitched design is not the same, it still works. I have kept the colour scheme to a apple green and white. A fresh look I feel.

Normally, after stitching, I would close the stitched holes up, but on this occasion I thought I would keep the stitching more noticeable to match with the dies.
Pop by tomorrow for MAWTT Challenge this month. x

Afternoon Tea on a Sightseeing Bus.....

Morning all, hope you are all well & happy today (and everyday !!).
Yesterday I went on a sightseeing bus in London that also did afternoon tea.

This is the bus (photographed the leaflet .... so not great quality.)

The bus has been altered to have set tables and chairs, upstairs and down.

This is how our table first looked when we arrived......

A close-up of the cakes.........

.....and this is how it looked after we had finished LOL !!!!!!

Here I am (centre) with Janet & Liz, my two best friends.......

This is a map of the route that we took. It was a lovely day, customer service was brilliant, food excellent, and as a bonus, it didn't rain.......hooray !!!!!

They bring around a hot drink of your choice in a thermal mug (like costa etc) with a lid that you drink through (save spilling !!) and at the end of the trip you can keep the mug as a souvenir. They do give you a "doggy bag" if there's anything leftover,  but as you can see we managed to "polish off" the lot !!

If you are ever able to go to London and would like to do this trip, the website is :-   phone no: 02030261188.....I would recommend it to anyone.

Have a good day....will be back to crafting soon. x

and the final few cards.......

Morning all, hope the weekend went well for you and that you have enjoyed seeing my birthday cards. Today I'm off to London for afternoon tea on a sightseeing bus. The bus goes from Victoria Coach Station and travels around the sites of London, whilst we have afternoon tea. I'm going with my two friends Janet & Liz. If I manage to take some photos I will share with you......

..... onto today's cards and here are 3 from my friends whom I craft with on a Wednesday evening.....

Wendy's used her new "We r Memory Keepers" alphabet board to do the "J".
Jenny is a fan of Sue Wilson dies (as most of us are !!!) and has done this one in my favourite colours.
and last but not least Sally has combined her love of the Groovi plates with stitching.....a great card.

Thanks ladies xx

......and There's Still More........

Morning all, yes, I know I'm a really luck girl to have such wonderfully talented friends. It's always great on my birthday to have all these cards displayed in the house.... i never get tired of looking at them.

Here are today's chosen ones.........

Anne's attention to detail is brilliant. Love the blue decoupaged flowers on this card.
Jo, has just returned from Australia, after spending a few months with her sons who live out there......after all the washing she's had to do, I'm surprised that she managed to have the time to make me a card at all !!!!
Jean is another of our eldest ladies....but she can still show the youngsters a thing or two !!!!
and finally for today is Sheila's card. Sheila isn't really into card making, she prefers to sew or knit, but she has come up with a really lovely birthday card for me.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone. Hope the weather is being good to you, If not, just stay in and craft......maybe take inspiration from the cards that I've shown this week.

Continuing The Theme.....

Morning all, Saturday here again and we're fast approaching the end of the month.....but there's still more fab birthday cards to show you.

Here is today's selection:-

Sandra has chosen a different size card, beautifully decorated.
Dee has layered with matching papers and decorations. The bling at the side makes the card stand out.
A Button in the centre adds an interesting feature to this beautifully stitched card by Barbara.
Carol does some lovely stitching onto patterned paper, and always creates a stunning card. She tried to get a border terrier image for the card (for my Rolo) but couldn't get one....this cute scottie dog is just as lovely.

Joan has shown that sometimes less is more in this lovely card.

and finally for today, Maureen always does really neat and beautifully layered cards, adding details like the lace, ribbon and candi.

Thanks ladies. x
