It's A Record Breaker !!!!!......

Good Morning all, hope you are all well & happy on this last day of July.

I bet you are wondering what the record breaker is?????????

......well, this is the first time ever, since starting my blog that i have managed to a post EVERY DAY in July..... So I'm chuffed to bits, although, I can't guarantee keeping this up. Lol !!

So Here is my 31st Blog for July.....

This book fold I did at the start of the month, but have only managed to decorate it recently.

I was really please that the "bauble" embellishments that i bought at Sandown last weekend look great on this. I hadn't even thought of using them for this when I bought them, I was thinking of adding to cards. The Fairy on top of the tree is a Robert Addams die cut out in gold mirri card. The "Merry Christmas" across the bottom is a spellbinders die.

I had some suitable green Christmas paper for the outside of the book, but have added these metal corners, just at the top.

Christmas seemed to be the theme for my July blogs, along with craft fair makes and owls !!!

Thank you to everyone who visits my blog and those of you who comment, I really appreciate your feed-back.

I'm a really lucky girl to be able to craft as much as I want (once the housework is done ------of course !!)

See you all next Month. x

Playing with Paper Clay.........

Morning all, I hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far.

On a Wednesday evening I meet up with 3 other friends for a crafting/chatting/laughing evening !!

Some nights we do actually manage to do some crafting LOL !!!
Last Wednesday, we had an evening of using paper clay and moulds. In this warm weather they were practically all dry before the end of the evening.
 Here is what I made.

Next Wednesday we are going to colour them in.

A close-up of some of them.
Have a good day and thanks for stopping by. x

As Pretty As A Butterfly.........

Morning all, well it's the last Friday of July.....hasn't this month flown by???

.....and talking of are a couple of butterflies flying across the card.
This die is by Elizabeth Craft Designs and consists of 3 dies. The outer shape, the inside intricate piece and the central body. I cut it out twice in bluey/mauve polka dot paper and in a yellow swirly patterned paper. Then layered alternatively.

The background sheet is another of my new buys. This is the cardstock that can be inked over with a resist pattern on. I've used cosmic Shimmer colour cloud blending inks and went across the page randomly in stripes of "rose blush", "fresh grass" & "chic violet".

The small yellow butterflies added are the "waste" from a tonic border punch.
Hope you have a good weekend. Thanks for stopping by, and please visit me again soon. xx

Re-Done Male Card......

Morning all, a quick blog today. After the card that I made for my ex- Father-in-law yesterday, i sat and looked at it....but wasn't happy with it.

You know how it is sometimes.....there was something not quite I've made a very similar card, and I'm much happier with this one.
I used one of my new embossing folders that I bought at Sandown. It's by "Crafts too" and is called "A2 Modern Lattice".  I used a similar image from LOTV, and again divided it into 3 pieces which i layered onto green textured card.
I did a double word effect, but instead of having the darker colour behind to show shadow, I put the lighter colour behind to high-light. I also coloured in the small sections of the embossed card, using a white gel pen.

Much happier with this effort.... what do you think?
Which do you prefer   blue or green ?

Thanks for popping by. xx

Another Male Birthday Card......

Morning all, hope you are all well & happy.

Here is another male birthday card. This is for my ex- Father-in-law.  A 7 x 7 card with no frills on..... The word dad is a tonic die that i've cut out of textured green cardstock. I used a darker shade pen to add depth by drawing a shadow around each letter. The watering can and wellington boots are peel-offs. The image is L.O.T.V, which i cut into 3 parts and then layered to matching green cardstock to make it seem larger.
Have a good day, whatever you are doing. x

Golden Wedding Anniversary Card.....

Morning all, how are you all today????

Here is a golden wedding anniversary card that I've done for a friend. All the wording are Robert Addams dies. The champagne bottle & glass is also a die by Robert Addams. I cut them both out in black cardstock & then the champagne bottle in gold mirri card. I've used a gold gel pen to "Highlight" the champagne bubbles. I've used silver peel-off numbers (that i coloured in black using a permanent marker pen). I've used peel-offs around the edge of the card, rather than layering, to keep the card flat. The hexagons are X-cut dies (bought on Saturday). The background card is the cardstock that i bought on Saturday, that resists ink. I didn't need to ink over, as it was perfect in white, with gold roses on.

A small 6 x 6 card.

Bit disappointed that the word "golden" is a bit wonky- didn't realise until it had stuck firmly down.  I blame it on the champagne LOL !!!!!

Have a good day, and hopefully see you again very soon. x

Look Out Santa's on his way!!!!!

Morning all, well here we are again, another week starting, and another week nearer to Christmas !!!

Here's another Christmas card made. I've used Tonic die for the post box, and Cheery Lynn for  Santa and his sleigh.

I cut the die out in red, black & white cardstock, then mixed the pieces together to get the right look. I coloured in the white holly leaves, rather than cutting out again in green cardstock.
I made some "letters" that are falling out of Santa's sleigh....I've added pencil lines to try and show the letters "falling" but not very happy with them, as i didn't know how to draw the lines to show movement.

Anyway, nether mind, hope you have a good day. Please come back soon and see what I've been up to (in a crafting way)LOL !!!!! x

Only Managed to Buy one of the items on my "must Buy" list........

Morning all, hope you are all well & happy today.

Went to Sandown Craft Show yesterday.......very hot & sticky inside, with loads of people there. Luckily, they had all the doors open, so every now and again you would get a lovely breeze coming through. Sat outside on the grandstand to eat our lunch, which was lovely as it was in the shade.

Only managed to buy one of the two items on my how come I've ended up with a bag full I hear you ask???

No excuses....couldn't resist a good bargain. Got 3 A4 embossing folders for £12, 3 packs of resistance card (where you can ink over but the silver/gold pattern still shines through) for £5.90, some reduced price dies and 4 packs of embellishments/buttons for £10.00. The cosmic shimmer glue was 3 for £20.00.

C&C were filming there as normal.....but no-one seemed to be taking any notice of them. Also they had a stand where the disney dies were for sale......didn't see anyone go anywhere near there all day !!!!

A good day out, and even better my hubby is going fishing tomorrow for 4 days, so I'll be able to "play" with all my goodies too !!

Have a good day and see you all again soon. x

Baby's Owl Mobile......

Morning all, Craft show today, so have scheduled this post.

Here is an owl baby mobile. Using the same pattern to crochet the owls (like I have for the keyrings) I've made 5 using pastel colours. This time, instead of crocheting the eyes, I've used white & black felt. Some I've embroidered closed eyes onto.
Guess what I used for the hoops??????

The plastic hoops that the super sticky red tape comes on. Clever idea wouldn't you agree?? I just covered the hoops with yellow satin ribbon.

I didn't add the wings, like I did for the keyrings, as I feel they look better without.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Pop by tomorrow to see what I succumbed to at the craft show LOL !!!
Full report will be given. x

New Project in the Making........

Morning all, Friday here again..... Glad that the weather has cooled down at last. Much easier to sleep now.

Started this crochet last night. I had seen this on YouTube and wanted to have a go. I'm using chunky wool, as I hope to make this into a rug for my bedroom.

Going to craft show at Sandown, Surrey tomorrow. Only have 2 things on my "must buy" will have to see what I come back with lol !!!

Hope you all have a good weekend. X

MAWTT- Challenge- Monsters or Aliens..

 Morning all, challenge time again.....

This challenge has been set by Tanya, who wanted to see monsters or aliens.

Well, I don't have any dies of that description, but a while ago, i was using my Tonic reindeer die. I had cut it out in several colours, so that i could create the image that i wanted.

When I was playing with the "waste bits", I couldn't help thinking that he looked like a devil with a bit of additional facial markings I've turned him into that person who "doesn't do Christmas" LOL !!!
The skull die was from XCut.
Pop over to to see the rest of the teams designs.....or why not enter prize as such, but good fun. x

A Golfing Fan's Birthday Card......

Morning all, hope you are all well & coping with this heat !!!
Another terrible night's sleep for me, as we sleep in the converted loft space - phew !!! no air - hot and humid.....bring on the thunder storms !!!!

Today's card is a simple one for my friends son. A golfing fan, he tends to get golf related cards from me, as we all know so well how difficult it is to do men's cards........Why can't they be more like us and like butterflies, flowers & bling LOL !!!

I've had this image for years...but am running out of golf papers, toppers etc so I just had to use it.
Nothing difficult or taxing with this card....just stuck the background paper down and added the toppers.... no embellishments !
On the insert, i added a golf related self-adhesive ribbon to the edge.

Please take a look at my blog tomorrow as it's the "MAWTT Challenge" again. x

Crochet Owls for The Fairs.....

Morning all, hope you all enjoyed your weekend.....but it was very hot, humid and sticky here in Kent, so not so pleasant.

Have booked a couple more craft fairs to do in August. So I decided to crochet these owls, using oddments of wool.  My aim is to add a key-ring chain to them ( once I've remembered where I put them LOL !!)
They only measure about 2.5 inches high - depending on the wool - and only take about 15 mins to make.

I've got loads of wool to use up, so I expect I will be making a lot more of these.
I've also thought of making a baby mobile using the pale coloured owls.

Enjoy your week, whatever you are doing. Thanks for stopping by and for those of you that leave a comment I really appreciate the feed-back. x

P.S: Hazel, I got the pattern free from Ravelry x

A Book Folded Vase......

Morning all, hope you are all well & happy this Sunday Morning.

Thought I would go back to a bit of book folding. Using a paperback book I've created this vase.

I haven't added any flowers on top, as yet, will probably make some paper folded ones later. I have just added some ribbon around the middle.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend. Hope you all have a good week next week too XXX

A Clean and Simple Christmas Card....

Morning all. A clean and simple Christmas card today. Only measures 5 x 7 inches - another postie !!.

I have used Sue Wilson "Christmas Shadow Box" die, along with Tonic penguin die. I used the frame part of the die, directly onto my card blank, which punched the holes of the frame out only. Keeping all the decorations in white, I have cut the penguin, and embellishment dies out. The scroll at the top and the wording was "Ultimate Crafts- merry christmas die", which i bought last year.

I have added a white insert, which shows through the card.

Enjoy the weekend, whatever the weather, and keep on crafting. xx

Pick Up A Penguin.......

Morning all, Friday here again, and another weekend about to start. No craft fairs for me this will have to do housework .....boooo !!!!

On a happier note, here is a penguin Christmas card. I've used the Tonic Penguin die, as well as, Sue Wilson Christmas dies - combining last years "Christmas scene with mini background " with this years "Holly octagonal frame". Although these two dies are different shapes, they work well together.  The wording is Robert Addams dies, with a holly themed bakground paper. This card is only 6 x 6, so will perfect to post.

"Happy Feet"

Enjoy your weekend. x

Xmas Tree Card.....

Morning all, whizzing through July now and well into making Xmas Cards.....

Here is another new die from Tutti designs. I used the Sue Wilson frame christmas die - using all the small baubles, star & candy cane to decorate the tree.

I had some felt snowflake ribbon which I've added to each side. The wording is Robert Addams die. I've layered it onto T/L notched diamonds die. I was lucky enough to be able to use the stripes on the tartan paper to my advantage when i cut the candy cane out. It looks just like the real thing !!!!

Enjoy the rest of your day. Hope you're able to do some crafting. x

Here's His !!!!

Morning all, as promised here is the cousin of the cute deer shown yesterday !!!!!

Again, i played around with the die cuts to have a polar bear. I have used a die from "Tutti Designs - poinsettia corner" and cut it out twice in red card. The first layer i just stuck down onto the backing paper, but the second layer I cut the poinsettias out first and using double sided adhesive sheet, sprinkled glitter on, before adding to the first layer.

I added little black gems in the centre of each flower. Finally added some holly from the Tonic-holly bouquet, that I had cut out in dark green card, with some red small mirri circles. I finished off by drawing a black line around the edge of the backing paper.
Pop back on the 21st July to see the "Demon" !!!!!

Any ideas???? xx
