My Baby Boy is back home today !!!!

Morning all, hope you all had a good weekend.

Today, I'm off to Heathrow Airport, to pick up my youngest son, who has had a week in Dubai, staying with his girlfriend, who is working out there for 2 years as an English teacher. So I guess I wont be doing much crafting today, as there will be a suitcase full of dirty washing LOL !!!

Hope you have a good day, whatever you are doing. See you all again very soon. x

Reindeer Gnome.....

Morning all, hope you've all enjoyed your extra hour this morning !!!!

Here is a reindeer gnome, knitted from the same pattern as the Father Christmas gnome, that I showed a few days ago.

He was free kit in a magazine that I bought a little while ago, and had just got around to making up. He only stands at about 3 inches tall, so I could add some ribbon and make him a Christmas tree decoration.

The craft fair yesterday was my worst one to date. I didn't even make enough to cover the cost of the table.....(which is the first time that has ever happened). My friend also didn't cover the cost.....along with other stall holders who didn't sell anything and had to pay the full amount of the table costs......the reason???? not many people came through the no people sales. My friend and I have decided not to do anymore at that venue, as the last couple of times we've been there hasn't been that great. But I guess you have to give it a few goes before you make your mind up.

I'm trying to be positive, my hubby keeps saying don't bother, but I will continue until the end of the year. I have another 7 fairs to will keep everything crossed for those.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.....hope it doesn't get too dark too soon tonight !!! x

Day 3 of Small Stitched Christmas Cards....LOL !!!!

Morning all, hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far. I'm doing a craft fair today, so hopefully will have wonderful things to report back tomorrow (fingers and everything else crossed !!)

Last of the small stitched Christmas cards for now. I do have a couple more that I've got to finish off the stitching and make into a card, but I'll save that for a later date.

This is a LOTV topper. As there wasn't much colour in the topper, I decided to keep the stitching and card to red & grey. The stitched part is all in the same shade of red, but it looks like to shades on some parts, because of the lines. I decided to add stripey paper too......hope your eyes are not going fuzzy LOL !!
Enjoy your Saturday, and I'll see you all again very soon....I hope !! x

Art Deco Inspired Christmas Card....

Morning all, well here we are Friday again!!!!

Here is another 6 x 6 small Christmas card with a simple stitched pattern. The art deco topper was from Hunkydory - which I've had for some time. I've raised the centre part by adding foam pads. I didn't want to add another layer, but instead have used a gold gel pen to draw around the stitched give an impression of layers....good tip if you don't want to add bulk.

Doing a craft fair tomorrow...and as it's halloween weekend, I'm hoping to sell off all my halloween goodies as I don't want to have to store them until next year!!!!  Will let you know how I get on.

Bye for now x

Small Stitched Christmas Cards....

Morning all, hope you are all well & happy today.

I've been doing some quick and easy stitching patterns ready to make into Christmas cards to post.

Here is one now complete.

A strange combination of colours:- lime green, dark red/purple and tartan!!! but funnily enough it does kinda work. The image of the robin has lime green holly leaves and dark red/purple berries, and the tartan paper has also the stripes in the same colours. The piece that i have used in between the topper and the stitched part is also in the same dark red/purple shade. I haven't added any embellishments as I'm hoping to post these out as they are only 6 x 6.
Pop by tomorrow for another card. x

2nd Sock Monkey.....

Morning all, halfway through the week, and I'm getting stuck into all the little things that I need to complete. One of them being this sock monkey that I was asked to do.

It really isn't difficult to do. If you go on pinterest there is a step by step guide.
This one is swinging through the trees, as we speak, on his way into Kent, and his new home.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving's so nice to hear from you all. x

CAS Christmas Card.....

Morning all, a clean & simple Christmas card today.

Last Wednesday, whilst crafting with friends, Jenny made a CAS card using a Sue Wilson die. She done the same as above, as in, she cut the die directly into the card blank, and added a sheet of red card behind and added a red topper. When I got home i looked through my dies and came across this Tonic one, that I must have bought years ago. It's amazing what we have and have forgotten about isn't it?

So I thought I would create the same card using this tonic die. I have just added a small sentiment on the front of the cracker, as well as some glitter to high-light areas.
Enjoy the rest of your day. x

A Autumnal Birthday Book Card.....

Morning all, It's my friend Sandy's birthday today, and i have made her a book style card to celebrate her 70th Birthday.
This die is from Tattered Lace and it's a really lovely die. There are lots of layering pieces in the set, so you can choose your size to suit your needs.
I made some flowers using a Spellbinders die and the papers that i have used in the backgrounds to co-ordinate. A piece of ribbon across the centre with a little bit of blue in makes the card complete.
I even did a small card for the number "70", which are peel offs.

Happy birthday Sandy, hope you have a good day.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving comments, it's nice to hear from you all. xx

Lazy Sunday........

Morning all, nothing new to show you today, just an update on yesterday......

Mixed day, starting off really well, then trickling to nothing.......

......luckily I made a profit, but my friend, whom I share the table & costs with, ended up making a loss. Luckily we have more to hopefully we will both do better.

Really don't know if it's worth all the time and effort, when people don't turn up or buy. Have had lots of encouraging words from everyone....people at the events say all the right things about my wares, take my business card........and that's the last I see or hear from them!!!

I don't charge a lot for my bits....if I charged for the time that it takes to make these things I would be a millionaire !!!!!

Oh good being down about it......there's always the next fair to look forward to.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.xx

Work In Progress.......

Morning all, Friday here once again !!! Another week nearly over and I seem to be getting nowhere fast !!

Over the last few months, I've been busy making things to sell at my craft fairs. But last weekend, I decided, that I've had enough of making things for other people, and decided to make somethings for myself.

Last year I bought some Christmas fabrics to make some place-mats ready for Christmas.....well here we are in October and I've finally made a start !! So  I guess I wont get them all done in time for this Christmas......but maybe next year LOL !!!

This is the first one....I haven't decided as yet whether to add another row, or maybe add segments to make a finished shape - rather than pointed......if that makes sense !! Watch this space !!

Also last year at Excel, I bought this wool, complete with pattern, to make a shawl/scarf. Only a 4 row pattern knits up quite I'm doing this when I want a break from the sewing

....and finally, I still have a quarter to complete of this cross- stitch, which I had promised myself that I would finish this year.......don't think that's going to happen LOL !!!

What projects have you still got to finish??? leave a comment on how many un-finished items you have.......Let's see who has the most ....... x

Here is a photo of my Border Terrier, Rolo, sitting on one of the cushions that i crocheted. You can just see the other one by the side of Rolo. He has claimed these as his cushions.... he likes to sit across the pair and nestle down to sleep. The dirty looks he gives anyone who dares to sit on his sofa or his cushions !!!
Pets ......they take over our lives and rule the roost don't they??

Craft fair tomorrow, so will report back on Sunday. Have only got 2 until the end of the month, so am hoping I will sell all the halloween goodies.

Bye for now x

.....and there you have it a spider crawling down the pencil !!!!

Spooky !!!!!

See you again very soon x

Quick and Easy Makes for Craft Fairs.....

Morning all, here are some quick makes for the Christmas craft fairs that I've got coming up.

I bought some cheap small notepads, which I have covered in Christmas papers from my stash. Then I've added a glitter pencil, a scented gel pen and a novelty shaped Christmas eraser.
The pens, pencils and erasers I bought from the £1 shop, and I'm hoping to sell these at £2.00 a set.

Nice little stocking fillers.....wouldn't you say ??

Come by tomorrow to see another quick and simple idea xx

Sally's Birthday.......

Morning all, hope you are all well & happy.

Today is my good friend Sally's Birthday. Sally, myself, and two other friends meet up once a week to craft together. We try and take it in turns to be "teacher", and try and do something productive each week, but mostly we chat and drink coffee and eat cake......and of course have lots of laughs.

Sally, like me, likes the colour purple. So this card has purple all over.....the backing paper, the topper, and the embellishments.
....and even inside !!

Star Appeal.......

Morning all, Friday again, and the start of another weekend......

Today, I'm off to Oxford to see my son. I'm not going empty handed, as my hubby is coming with me......... we are going to do a bit of D.I.Y which, I mean my hubby is doing the D.I.Y, and I'm supervising LOL !!! My son ordered a unit from Ikea, which he had delivered to our address  and we are going to build it for him and also do a few other repair jobs whilst we are there. Then when he has finished work we will bring him back home with us for the weekend.
Here are 3 felt Christmas Decorations that I've just finished. The white one is very "nordic", the green one has 3 hot fix crystals on and the red one has green buttons sewn on. All very different, but all Christmassy.

Enjoy your weekend. x

Morning all, Movingalongwiththetimes Challenge today. It's been set by Jessie who would like to see "leaves or trees"

To be honest with you, I found this challenge difficult. I didn't know what to do, but I had these autumnal leaves in my stash. I wanted to do something with them, but keep the design simple.

I have arranged them onto the card blank, with no background papers or toppers.
I'm sure you can come up with something much more impressive than I've why not enter the competition. Go to moving along with the times and enter you card.....or just see the other design team members cards.

Good luck !!

Father Christmas Gnome.....

Hello Everyone, a bit late with the blog today.....

Here is a Father Christmas Gnome....he stands at about 3.5 inches high.
I only finished him late last night (but still need to add a pom pom to the end of his hat !!)
His beard is a sparkly white yarn.

This was a free kit with a magazine, so I thought I would knit him up.
Although I've added googly eyes to him, I will probably change them for a sewn on bead later today. I just wanted to show him off today, as I had nothing else to show you.
I'm getting over my cold now (which has lasted a week so far) hopefully will feel up to doing more soon.

Enjoy the rest of the day. xx

Sock Monkey.....

Morning all, hope you are all well & happy.

Here is the "Sock Monkey" that I said, a while ago, that I was going to make.

I'd been asked to make some for a friend of a thought I would have a practice first. Very easy to make. I bought 2 pairs of socks from the £ I have a pair to make another one if I get time. He's not leg fatter than the other one.....but to be honest I made him whilst I was not feeling didn't have the energy to be too fussy!!!
When I make them for someone else I will be more accurate.....

The only additional materials you need are a small piece of felt and two buttons for eyes, plus stuffing of course!!

Enjoy your day, and thanks for stopping to see what I've been doing.....hope you enjoy the mixture of crafts !!!! xx

A Lovely Christmas Stamp........

Morning all, I'm not normally a stamper (never seems to go right for me), but when I saw this on The Craft Channel I just had to buy it.

It's from "Chocolate Baroque" and is a large 5.5 inches square stamp of poinsettias. I stamped it using clear embossing ink then sprinkled black embossing powder over it and heated it with a heat gun.

The one above is on black card, and the one below is on white card. My Good friend Sandy, has lots of different paints very cheekily, I asked her to colour the top one in using her return she could borrow my stamp do some for herself !!! I'm sooooooo generous aren't I ?????

She coloured in the bottom one too using alcohol pens......a stronger red comes through on white card.

So one stamp can achieve different looks.......check out her blog crafts4sandy and see some of the stunning cards that she makes.

Bye for now x
