Xmas Card .....

Morning all, last day of June today.....that means half the year over.......which also means Christmas is coming !!!!!!!!!

I haven't done much with this card, as I felt the image was busy enough, without adding anything. I added a strip of Christmas ribbon down the centre. I embossed the middle (light green) piece. Unlike the previous book shaped Christmas card that i did before my holiday, I haven't stuck the "pages" down, so it's only stuck down the centre.
Not sure if you can see this, but I've added a line of fine glitter across each "hill", just to add something.

See you in July XXXX

Baby Boy Frame......

Morning all, hope you are all well and happy today. Weather is a bit hit & miss.....not exactly "Flaming June"!!!!!

Here is the baby boy frame that is similar to the baby girl frame that I did yesterday. I photographed it without the glass in so I didn't get the reflection. It looks like it doesn't fit in the frame at the top. It does, I just hadn't put the backing card on.

Again, I have used Tonic, Little B, & Tattered Lace dies.

I think by adding a touch of lemon in each frame it brightens the design up.
Have a good day......will be showing Xmas cards tomorrow !! x

Finished the Ironing  !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning all, well after a marathon laundry washing weekend, i spent most of yesterday ironing.

Managed to go up to the craft room last night. I've made a new baby frame. I'm doing another craft fair on Saturday, and one the following Friday.

The frame is from Ikea. Used Tonic and Little B dies. Centre frame is tattered lace layering die.

It didn't photograph so well, reflections on the glass. I'm going to do a baby boy one next, so i will photograph without the glass in.

Have a good day. xx

Back home.........

Morning all. Had a wonderful week on the Isle of Wight. Weather could have been better ( not really hot enough to sunbathe).

Had loads of long walks with Rolo & hubby. Rolo very good in the car and on the ferry, which I was a bit worried about.

I don't know if you're the same as us, but when we go away to a holiday let the first couple of days we love our accommodation, and can see ourselves living there permantely, but come the end of the week we are finding faults and can't wait to get back home. This time, however, we still loved it by the end of the week. Bembridge is a beautiful place....not too touristy. The only downsides were that when the weather was bad we lost all the t.v channels apart from BBC 1 and the Internet was very slow. I couldn't use my iPad at all for the Internet.

The good side of this lack of technology......was that I've almost finished my dress lol !!!!!!

Got stuck into the washing as soon as I got back, as my son had filled the laundry bin full of his bits !!!!

Also, had a few crafty parcels delivered whilst I was away......looked like Santa had been when I arrived home..... Normally I can intercept the postman before my hubby sees them lol.

Looking forward to doing some crafting ( once the laundry done) xx

MAWTT CHALLENGE:- NEW BABY.....

Morning all, MAWTT Challenge again today. This month the challenge is set by Beckie, and she wanted to see "New Baby" cards.

This is what I have done......

I have used Tonic and Little B dies. The backing paper already had the look of patchwork, so works well in this card......Could be for a boy or girl.
This is the Tonic die, surrounded by Sue Wilson Noble stitched die.
I have added a button that I have threaded with pink & blue bakers twine.
Little B die for the baby clothes.

Pop over to the MAWTT site to see the other design team entries or why not enter a card yourself. Would love to see what you come up with. x

Coming Along Nicely........

Morning all, a quick blog today....hopefully scheduled ok.

Just to let you see how my knitted dress is coming along.
I've used mauve, lilac, purple, deep purple, pink, grey, bluey-purple & white. It's a 56 row repeat pattern for the colours. It's about 13 inches here. Just done the first decrease row, so hopefully, will start to knit a row a bit faster. I've got it with me whilst on holiday, so with a bit of luck, might be nearly finished by the time i get back !!!

A close-up of the rows.

bye for now x

In The Red !!!!!.......

Morning all, hope you are enjoying your week. I have scheduled this blog, while I'm away.

I hope I wont be "in the red" when I come back.....unless it's my suntan LOL !!

I've kept this card simple with the colours. When I was making my sewing kits, I had some left over pieces of paper. I decided to do a patchwork piece with them. If you zoom into the card, you can see the pattern papers behind. Using the same red card, I use an Anna Griffin die for the central piece. Sue Wilson noble rectangles die to make a frame, and Sue Wilson Daisy die for the flower in the corner. The wording die is by Elizabeth Crafts.

I apologise for the glue over the flower. I didn't realise, until the photo appeared. (I've picked it off now LOL !!).

See you soon, thanks for popping by. x

""""We're all going on a Summer Holiday ...""""

Morning all, off today......looking forward to going on holiday...(as if you couldn't tell lol!!)

So what could be better than to show a Christmas card!!!!!!!

I've used Hunkydory card for the main piece and used a "Elizabeth Crafts" merry Christmas word die. (lovely font this one).
Looking at the photograph it looks a little plain......needs something added.....what do you suggest??

Think I'll come back to this when I get back.

Have a good weekend. xx

Thank You Card......

Morning all, Friday here once again !!!

Just a quick blog, as I'm getting ready to go on Holiday tomorrow, so have tonnes to do before I go.

Jenny L, who follows my blog, and I follow hers, has very kindly sent me some metallic threads for me to do my stitching with.

I thought I would send her a little thank-you card. Of course, it had to be a stitched card......
I'm looking forward to using the threads.

Enjoy your weekend.

I will try and schedule some blogs for next week, whilst I'm on Isle of Wight, with hubby & Rolo. I will be taking my ipad, so will still be able to see your blogs.

A Quickie Birthday Card......

Morning all, not long now before I jet off on holiday......well get the ferry to the isle of wight.......but you know what I mean lol !!!

Here is a quick birthday card that I've done. The person is going to be 70 this year and dogs are her life.
I have decoupage this image with 3 layers on the hat and 2 layers on the ears.
The corner die is Sue Wilson "Configurations- dainty lace edger", the 70th is Robert Addams die.
Not over fussy....

Enjoy your day. x

Dimensions for the Sewing Kit.....

Morning all, thanks for all your comments yesterday regarding the sewing kit/ manicure kit. Patricia has asked for measurements.....so I will try !!!!!

1 sheet of A4 card, cut in half (short edge - so about 4.2 ins (10.5 cm)) then cut the length to 9 ins.

Score both pieces @ 6.2 cm , 6.8 cm, 13.2 cm, 14.4 cm and 20.6 cm.
IT HAS TO BE PRECISE !!!!!

Then stick the 2 ends together (2.5 cm end). The small pockets are all 5.5 cm x 4.5 cm. Score 3 sides at 0.5 cm. I covered the front and back of all panels, plus all the front pockets. Then added a strip of ribbon across the 3 middle panels at back. (that means the double piece that is stuck together plus a panel each side).

I hope that was easy to follow........I'm not in John Lockwood's league LOL !!!! x

Building Up Stock.......

Morning all, hope you are all well & happy today.

As the football has taken over the t.v watching, I was able to spend a good part of the weekend and yesterday in my craft room. I've booked up to do a few craft fairs later in the year, so thought I would do some more sewing/cosmetic kits.

both side fold into themselves towards the middle to form a small book. Tied with co-ordinating ribbon.
The inside contents showing both the sewing kit: scissors, tape measure, spare buttons, needle & thread. Or the cosmetic kit: scisscors, tweezers, emery boards, nail file & make-up brushes.

I will keep the kits empty then just bag up the contents so that the customer can choose the colour & contents separate.

Enjoy your day x

Finished !!!!!

Morning all, hope you are all well & happy. My youngest son arrived back home on Friday, after a weeks holiday in Ibiza, so I spent most of yesterday doing his washing & ironing !!!!!

But, i managed to complete this 5d diamond painting of poppies.
I had shown the photo above before when I had just started.......
 ...... three quarters done...........
...... you can see what I mean about being like a cross stitch pattern/chart with each square having a letter or number so that you know what colour to use.

..... and the completed item. I must admit it looks better from a distance as you can see the poppies better, rather than close-up. I just need to frame it now.
It is 19.5 cm x 26.5 cm so I should be able to get a frame quite easily for it.

I have tidied up my craft room now.....so of course, will not be able to find anything now LOL !!!. Still doing my knitted dress, but I am really enjoying doing it.....just hope it fits when done or I will be selling here !!!!!!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. x

Happy Ever After........

Morning all, another working week coming to an end. Hope your week has gone well so far.

I've been a bit absent for most of this week.....there are 2 reasons for that. The first reason is because the weather has been so nice here in Kent, I've taken advantage and sat out in the garden soaking up the rays !!! The second reason, is that I have started to knit a dress for myself !! I've never knitted a dress or even a skirt before, but the pattern that i have chosen was so nice I decided to take the plunge. It's knitted using a cotton ply wool and is in shades of purple/mauve in a zig-zag design. I'm knitting it on round needles and 288 stitches per row at the moment, which takes about 10 mins to do a row!!!!

Anyhow, I took time out on Wednesday night, to join friends for a crafting evening.

This is the card I created.

Using Sue Wilson "Special Occasion Collection - ornate frames happily ever after" and "Configurations - dainty lace edger" dies.
Its an 8 x 8 card, using cream and raspberry card-stock.
Have a wonderful weekend.....i will try and do some more crafting soon.x

Finished At Last !!....

Morning all, hope you all had a good weekend, weather was lovely and warm yesterday, which made up for being freezing on Friday lol !!

At Last I have completed this bed runner. Initially, I thought it wouldn't take too long to do (whilst doing other things !), but actually, it was very time consuming. Making each hexagon, then sewing together to create a strip (3 times), then joining the strips together with a crochet stitch. I have enjoyed doing it, but it will be a while before I do this pattern again.....need a break !!

Here it is on my bed......
The colours match the wallpaper perfectly.

Enjoy your Monday, and thanks for popping by, always a pleasure to see you.x

Oh No......I've Started Something New LOL !!!!!!............

Morning all, Friday here again..... LOL !!!

How many of us say "we can't start another hobby as we've too many things on the go already"  ??????

Well I'm the same......but what have I done?? started this 5d diamond painting kit, when I haven't finished my cross stitch yet (naughty me!!!)

I don't know if you've seen these before, but they are not really a painting kit, instead you have a cross stitch pattern (ie image on grid paper with each colour given a code), the difference is that the pattern sheet has a sticky surface. Each square has a tiny faceted tile that sticks to the square. It's time consuming and neck aching (when you've been doing it for a long time without a break), but soooooo addictive.
This will be an image of poppies in a vase. The faceted tiles gives such a sparkle when the light hits them. I can't wait to finish it.

I will, of course, show the finished item once done. Have a good weekend and hope the weather picks up a bit and is warm & sunny. x

A Camper Van Fan......

Morning all, a few days ago was my friend Wendy's Birthday. Here is the card and cushion that i made for her.

I got the image for the camper van from google images. I then worked out where i needed to do the stitching, and where i could just do straight lines of thread. I have chosen the colours pink, black & white.

I have used Sue Wilson Noble dies, as they are certainly my favourite. Layered in pink & black to match the sewing.

The flowers are a Tonic die. I run off several of them in pink, black & white and randomly arranged them together and on the card. A black swirl completes the card.
I also made her a cushion in the same pink & black. The pattern is from King Cole "4324" using chunky wool.

I'm very pleased to say that she was thrilled with her card & cushion.

Thanks for stopping by again, really appreciate my followers. xx
