Giraffe Toy.....

Morning all, sorry that I've been absent for a while, week has flown by, and have had my eldest home for a few days....so have been unable to get to my computer.

I will try and catch up with everyone's blog over the weekend.

Here is another soft toy that I've made. Again the pattern is from "knittingbypost". There should have been large knitted circles on his body, but I didn't like the look of them, so instead, I have used a brown promarker to make the dots.

Hope you have a great bank holiday weekend. xx

Foxy......

Morning all, a quick blog today. This is the fox that I managed to complete at 10pm on Friday night, and which I sold on Saturday morning !!
The pattern is from Knittingbypost. It was supposed to be a PJ case, but like the hippo, I made it into a soft toy.
I will try and knit another one soon !!

I'm doing a craft fair this morning, so will have to see what I've got left in stock to sell LOL !! I will have to be extra speedy in knitting !

Have a good day and see you again very soon.

V W Cushion & Candle......

Morning all, I'm still making for Father's day, and although I've made this cushion before, I thought I would do a candle to match.
I got the image from goggle. It's just the outline, so I can print it off and colour it in whenever I want to change the colour scheme.

As to the craft fair yesterday.......I did rather well, the hippo sold, as well as 2 candles, the knitted cushion with the buttons on and a fox (which I'll show you tomorrow).

Quite busy throughout the day, which made the time go fast. Only started to quieten down later in the afternoon.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. xx

Pink Hippo.....

Morning all, another start to the weekend...

I'm doing a craft fair this morning in a Church. A new venue for me, so let's hope there will be loads of customers...

I've made this hippo, which should be a PJ case, into a soft toy, by filling the body part.
Went to Excel on Thursday, for the craft fair, and wasn't impressed. Less stalls each time I go there and nothing new to see. A lot of the stands were exhibition displays, rather than shops. I don't know if Excel is too expensive, or whether it's because we all buy on line nowadays.

It's a good job that I get the tickets sent to me for free, as I don't think I would go if I had to pay.

Will let you know how I get on with the craft fair tomorrow. x

Four Candles....Fork Handles.....

Morning all, I apologise for the "Two Ronnies" sketch reference...., especially as I've only 3 candles.....but for some reason when ever I see candles, I'm always reminded of that sketch.

Anyway, enough of silliness....Here are 3 candles that I've decorated. The owl and camper van were just printed onto ordinary, cheap copier paper, and the butterfly one is a serviette.
This lovely image I got from Google. Once melted into the candle, I've added pearl drops to his eyes, and a ribbon across the bottom and top.
This serviette also has an embossed pattern, which looks really good on the candle. I cut 3 butterflies out and stuck onto card, and then cut them out again and stuck them onto the candle, matching the butterfly image. I've only added ribbon across the bottom.

And finally, this camper Van. I went onto google (great source for images) and found the outline of the van. This I printed onto copier paper and then coloured in, using my promarkers. I will do another one in red asap.

I'm off to Excel London today for the craft show. Will let you know what I buy later.

Enjoy the rest of your day, and thanks for stopping by. xx

Father's Day Chocolate Bars....

Morning all, well a short week this week for most of you. Hope you all enjoyed your bank holiday weekend. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary....but it was just nice not to have to go anywhere and do things LOL !!! (I'm a stay at home girlie !!)

I decide to re-decorate the chocolate bars left over from Mother's Day and Easter to become Father's Day gifts !!!

I found some suitable papers for men to wrap around the chocolate, and then in my stamps I found a couple of Father's Day ones that I had forgotten that I had (like we all do LOL !!).
If I don' sell these my Father's day, I guess I have to give them to my lot indoors....as I think I should get fresher ones ready for Christmas !!!!

Have a great day. xx

Knitted Cushion.....

Morning all, a bit late with the blog today.....but it's a bank holiday and I've had a lie in this morning LOL !!

Hope your bank holiday Monday is going great so far, a little cloudy and overcast here in Kent, but hopefully the sun will shine through later.

A while ago, a friend of mine, gave me some magazines that she didn't want anymore. Among the patterns was this one.

I couldn't wait to knit this, as I fell in love with the design. I've knitted it in a cotton type wool. The size is 40 x 40 cms. The small buttons are from docrafts. They were on sale when I went to the Farnborough craft fair a while ago.
I'm going to take it along to my craft fairs to sell, but to be honest, I don't mind if I don't sell it, as I would keep it myself.
Thanks for popping by, enjoy the rest of your day. xx

Happy Easter Sunday......

Morning all, hope you are enjoying the long weekend so far, and haven't eaten all your Easter eggs in one go LOL !!

My craft fair that I did on Friday went well, and I managed to sell most of my Easter bits. I've got a couple of chocolate bars that didn't sell, but never fear, they will be re-decorated ready for Father's Day.....good job chocolate keeps !!

On to today and I've made some small "shirt" boxes filled with toffees or chocolate eclairs.
I got a drawn image of a shirt and adapted it by drawing it twice, back to back, and inserting a space in-between to make the box.

I've covered the front and back with shirt-like papers and added a contrasting tie. I used the image as a guide on how to draw the collar, pocket, sleeve details and button placket.

Just a few toffees etc to fill the box, which I have then sealed using a glue dot.

On this shirt, I used a white marker to show up better than black.

Have a great day, and hopefully I will see you all again very soon.

BTW, I now have an etsy shop: You can find me by typing in:-

Father's Day Book Fold......

Morning all, a quick blog today.

Here is another book fold done for Father's Day. This slightly different from a normal book fold, in that, I've folded and cut each page, so that the word "dad" stands proud of the rest of the page.
I've then used a dark green sharpie pen and coloured in the "tab" of each page on either side, to create a strong colour.
The simple message "with love" is from a Spellbinders die.
Enjoy the rest of your day. x

Happy Good Friday......

Morning all, well it's the start of a nice long Bank Holiday weekend. Hope the weather stays nice where you are.

I've done yet another pop up father's day card, this time on the motorbike racing theme.
I've used papers and images from the "Making cards for men" magazine that I've had a while, along with some self adhesive ribbon.

A good tip for making these pop up boxes. Keep any acetate packing that you might have to cut into strips for these boxes, rather than buy a sheet of acetate and cut down. A lot cheaper too !!!

The "silver cup" is a die by X-CUT.

This is a Robert Addams die of a champagne bottle. I cut it out in black and with a gold gel pen, have coloured in the "foil topper" and wrote "dad" on the label.

I'm doing the last Easter craft fair this morning, so hopefully will be able to sell off the last few remaining bits and bobs that I've got.

Have a super weekend. xx

MAWTT Challenge... "birds or feathers"

Morning all. Today is the MAWTT challenge for team B. It's been set by Jackie, who wants to see birds or feathers.

I had this lovely image of little cute ducks for quite a while. Suitable at this time of year too, with Easter at the weekend.
A close-up of the image.

Pop over to MAWTT to see the other DT entries.

Bye for now. xx

"Gone Fishing!!!!"...............

Morning all, a bit late with the post today....been hectic at my house again !!
Took my eldest back to Oxford on Monday, M25 a nightmare there and back !. Constantly stop / start /go slow / speed up. No accidents seen, just volume of traffic I suppose. Needless to say, very tired when I got home. Still haven't put the craft room back to how it was yet. Must try and do that today.

Anyhow, back to crafting, and I've made another pop-up box card. This time with fishing as the theme. I did the rectangle shape again. The bits and pieces were from an old issue of "Making Cards for men". I also had some old peel-off ribbon with fishes on.
The little hooks are a die from Robert Addams.
Pop by tomorrow for the MAWTT Challenge. x

Lego Brick Inspired Gift Boxes.....

Morning all, Monday again, comes around quick (and I don't work LOL !!).

I made these Lego inspired boxes as maybe something else I could use for Father's Day Gifts. We all know that men are boys at heart and probably still like Lego !!. My two sons do, and they are 27 & 25 !!

A very simple rectangle box, with a sleeve around and then 6 circles cut out and mounted onto foam pads and stuck onto the sleeve. Not too big, will probably hold a couple of ferrero rocher chocolates or something similar.
Would also work well as party gift boxes, for a boys birthday party.

My eldest son has been home for the weekend, to celebrate my youngest son's birthday. So I should be driving him back to Oxford today. Fingers crossed that the M25 is all ok.

Bye for now. x

Book Fold For Father's Day......

Morning all, hope you are all well & happy and enjoying the warm, sunny weather where you are.

I'm still on my Father's day theme. I decided to do a book fold, as I haven't done any for a while. A simple dad in a rosette. I've coloured it in using sharpie pens.
The spine had the book's title on, so I've cut a strip of black card and added the wording (Robert Addams dies). The front and back covers were just plain black, so I've left them as they are.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.....bank holidays coming soon LOL !!!

CHEWWYYYY........

Morning all, today is my youngest son's birthday. Gary is 25 years old today. He is, like most men, still a boy at heart and loves Star Wars, especially Chewbacca.

So I have made him this pop-out card for his birthday. I got the front image from google, and added brown card and gold peel-offs for his name and age.
Inside are 4 images of Chewbacca, and happy birthday son (a combination of dies and peel-offs).

I always like to give my sons a little present (normally along with wads of cash !!) and so, have made him a Chewbacca of his own.

It is a crochet design. I will make it into a key-ring for him if he wants me to.

He is a very loving and comical son, and keeps me on my toes - like most men do !!!!

Enjoy your weekend. x

Larger Key-rings......

Morning all, well I'm certainly into Father's day gifts at the moment LOL !!! I keep seeing things that I like the look of, and can't wait to make them.

With this set of key-rings, I have used foam sheets. I used double for the plaques and double for the motif, just to make it as strong as possible, as foam sheets can rip if too flimsy.
The camper van is a Marianne Designs die, which I cut out in blue and white foam. I left the white windows in and used the die as a stencil to do the markings. Foam sheets don't emboss very well.
This is a X-Cut die. I have added peel-offs for the "1" and "dad". I'm not sure if they will stay stuck - and might have to add some P.V.A glue over the top to hold.
This golf caddie die is from "tutti designs". Again, I've added peel-offs.
Sue Wilson banner dies, along with X-Cut (car) and Robert Addams (tools).
and finally, Hexagon and boat dies from X-Cut.

I just need to buy some Key-ring rings (without chain links) to attach to each one.

It's my youngest son's birthday tomorrow, so pop by and see his card. Last year whilst making his card I sliced my finger open using Tim Holtz scissors. This time I'm pleased to report all my digits are in tact LOL !!

Bye for now. x
