Dad's 80th Birthday......

Morning all, hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I had a lovely Christmas with my boys at home with me.

Now, it seems, that it's been a long, long, time since I made a card !!

It's my dad's 80th birthday today, so I just had to make a card for him !!

I've got my family coming over this evening for a birthday celebration get together. I'm laying on a small buffet style feast for all, and my niece is making him a cake. I'll take a photo tonight and show you in the next few days.
My dad was in the royal navy, and served on the HMS Gambia, in the late 1950's. I went on google to search for an image.....but this was the best I could find....which isn't very clear, but hopefully he'll recognise it LOL !!. The other image is of a spitfire. My brothers and I have clubbed together to pay for him and my mum to go to the spitfire museum, and for dad to have his photograph inside the spitfire cockpit. Hopefully, my brothers and wives, will be able to meet up afterwards for a meal in the new year.

Bye for now x

Finished in the Nick of Time !!!

Afternoon all, hope you are all now in doors, with your feet up, with everything done !!

My two boys are due home today....can't wait to see them !!

My youngest only moved out last Wednesday, and I can't believe how emotional I have felt ever since....almost bereaved..... it really hit me hard.

Anyway they will soon be here, so here is a quick blog to show the jumper that I managed to finish on Friday evening. The customer picked it up on Saturday. It's for her grandson who's also celebrating  his birthday today, so I'm really pleased that I was able to finish it.

Just in case you are too busy tomorrow to pop in and see my blog ..... i would like to wish you all a.......

Have a wonderful time. xx

MAWTT Challenge: "Anything but a card"......

Morning all, hope you are all well & happy and ready for the big day !!!

This is the last MAWTT Challenge for this year. The brief is "anything but a card". I made this table decoration last week at a local flower arranging class. I've never done flower arranging before, and it was quite simple to do. I am really pleased with the result.
Pop over to mawtt challenge to see the other DT entries.

If I don't get a chance nearer the time, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Also a big thank you to you for supporting me, on this blog, with your kind comments.

I hope to make more and more in 2018......so watch this space !!!!! xxxxx

My Last Craft Fair This Year......

Morning all, well not long now until the big day !!

Today is my last craft fair for this year, and I have to say, I'm looking forward to staying indoors and resting LOL !! Last year I did 25 craft fairs in a year, this year I've done 69 !! Glad to say that overall I've made a considerable profit, so will continue next year. Now that I've done 2 years I can see what ones are worth doing and which are not. Generally, the summer fetes and Sundays are not good days for craft fairs. September onwards is brilliant !!!

This is the last of things that I've made for the craft fairs. I've made these little birds before and they've always sold well.

Some good news that I'd like to share with you. My eldest son passed his driving test and will be looking to buy a car in the new year......which means no more taking him back to Oxford - Hooray !!!!!. My youngest moves into his first home on Wednesday......so I might get a bigger craft room LOL !!!! (I'll let you know if I get my own way)

Bye for now x

Starting to wind down......not !!

Morning all, a little late again with the blog.....and sorry that I've not been around for a while. I've been very busy with craft fairs, did 6 last week and have got 2 this week.

My youngest is also hoping to move this Friday into his first home, so have been busy with him, sorting things out.

The customer who I had knitted the cat for, also asked me to knit a fireman. This pattern is a Jean Greenhowe design. I really like knitting her patterns, as the instructions are very clear and informative. I especially like that she tells you what the measurements should be when it's stuffed.  Anyway I just had to sew the helmet on, so took it with me on Sunday to finish off if I wasn't too busy (which I wasn't due to the bad weather !!). I took the photo on my phone and messaged her to tell her it was completed. She came down especially to collect it. She had a carrier bag with her......which contained wool, pattern, and needles LOL !! She had started to knit atThomas the tank engine jumper a few years ago and couldn't complete, so she asked me to do it for her. So now I've un-ravelled all that she had done and have started knitting again !!

I will try my hardest to complete before Christmas for her if I can.

Still haven't written my Christmas cards out yet or wrapped my presents....but hopefully next week will be a quieter one !!

Have a good day/week if I don't manage to blog again this week.x

Scented Tea-Lights.....

Morning all, hope your weekend is going great so far.

Here are some scented tea lights in co-ordinating boxes that I've made for my craft fairs.

They smell fantastic, with lovely fruity smells. Makes my craft room smell wonderful as I'm making them.

Did a craft fair yesterday at a Catholic college. Haven't done this one before, and it turned out rather well. It was well organised with tables clearly labelled before stall-holders arrived, with table cloths on them too!

Doing another one today, at a venue that I've done before. Hoping to have another good day, as people are in the buying mood now, with Christmas approaching.

Only 7 more craft fairs booked in this month, then I'll be able to sit back, relax, take stock and maybe make something for myself LOL !! I've seen so many things that I would like to make for me...but just haven't had the time.

My youngest will hopefully be moving into his new home with his lovely girlfriend soon. So I will have an empty nest then......(feeling sad already !) ......  On a positive note.....part of his bedroom will then become my stock room for items not sold, but kept until next year !!!!! I'll soon take over the house !!

Oh Well must go now.....will let you know how I get on today.

Enjoy the rest of your day x
