Hand Knitted Unicorn.....

Morning all, hope you are all enjoying the weekend so far. Weather not that great, here in Kent, but I'm hoping it will improve this week!

I'm still resting up, and doing a lot of knitting and crochet, whilst sitting around all day !!
I've made this unicorn. I've had the magazine for quite a while, and was thumbing through it again the other day, when I spotted the pattern. Again, it's a good way of using up small amounts of wool.
A bit time consuming, and I probably wont make another, unless I get an order, but it will go on my craft table on Friday (if I feel up to going out!).

I feel, that as time is going by, and I'm staying in, I could quite easily turn into a recluse....just sitting all day knitting and crocheting LOL !!

Hopefully, my legs wont feel like jelly for much longer and I'll motivate myself to step out of the front door !!

Bye for now x

I made this baby penguin keyring, again using up my oddments of wool.

He is only 2 inches high, and very cute !!

See you again very soon. x

Ex's Birthday.......

Morning all, another quick blog today.

I made this eclipse card for my ex husband's birthday.

I think they make a good card for a man, as it's a simple design, but still special, with their name on. Might make all my men's cards this way in the future.
Bye for now x

Crochet Owl......

Morning all, hope you are all well and happy today.

A quick blog today, as I'm recovering from a stay in hospital. A routine procedure, but had complications that have knocked me for 6!!. Feel very weak and not my self. Trying to rest as much as possible, which isn't easy for me !!

I made this crochet owl, as a way of using up my oddments of  wool.
Have a good day and see you again soon. x

It's A Beautiful Day!!......

Morning all, hope you are all enjoying this lovely weather. To anyone running the London Marathon today, I wish you good luck, keep drinking water !!

Onto today's blog. I fancied making something more constructive than just a card. So I made a couple of stationery sets. I've made them before, a year or so ago, and sold them at my craft fairs. But like most things, I don't want to keep on doing the same thing over and over again.

They are quite easy to make, once you've cut out all your pieces.
I've made matching notelets, and gift tags.

Have a lovely rest of the weekend , and I'll see you all again soon.x

A Beautiful Day Out.......

Morning all, just a quick update on yesterday. It was a beautiful warm and sunny day at Excel, London. Travelling wasn't a problem....wasn't overcrowded or too hot on the trains. There were a load of people at Excel, in different events, but the craft show was ok. Again, like last year not many stalls, but it was well laid out with space between the aisles.

This is all I bought for myself. I had to get some glue and tape for a friend....but that's not very exciting.

You can't really see from the photo too well, but the top two are templates from Cathie Shuttleworth. One is to make a reindeer head box (ready for Christmas treats), the other is for fox bunting. I'm thinking of using the template and cut from felt to make a small this space !!

There is also a gnome kit (I bought as a kit so that I've got the instructions to make more - ready for Christmas , as my crochet ones sold well.

The last item is an unicorn stamp by woodware. My friend has this stamp, and I kept thinking how much I liked it....when I saw it there, I knew it was meant to be !!!!

Hope today is as nice as yesterday....and hopefully the weekend too.

Bye for now xx

Eclipse Birthday Card.....

Morning all, hope you are all well and happy. Halfway through another week....I hope the sun is shining where you are?

Have you seen these eclipse cards before?? I've seen a few on facebook recently, so I thought I would have a go at one.

It's my friends birthday at the end of the week.
These are quite simple to do, if you have large letter dies, but I used my silhouette to cut the words out, that way I could have any font and any size.
The letters are just mounted onto foam pads to lift them away from the background sheet. You need to add a darker layer underneath, to show the shadow.
Going to excel London tomorrow.....will let you know what I come back with. xx

Octagon Birthday Card.....

Morning all, another day and something different I hope !!

I bought the Sue Wilson Octagon dies a little while ago, and decided to make a shaped card out of them. Being an octagon the card still stands up well.

I didn't buy the patterned octagon dies, just the stitched edged ones, but I like the designs on them. I've been looking through my dies and selling old ones on ebay. It's amazing how many we all have - some have only been used once - if at all !!!! So I decided to sell them. Whilst going through them it made me look at my dies more closely to see if I would use them. I came across some Leanne Creiffe (I think that's the name) and saw these little scrolls. They had left and right, and when I lay them against the octagon shape, they seem to fit perfectly. So I cut them from the lilac card stock and from a distance it looks like I've used a patterned die.
I think we should all take stock of what we have in our craft rooms.....I think we would all be amazed at how much money we have spent over the years on things that we don't use LOL !!

See you all again soon. x

2nd Cushion Completed......

Morning all, hope you are well. Haven't been around for a while...busy weekend with my boys !!

I did manage to finish this second cushion for my lounge, on Sunday night.
I had made this one before in green, brown and cream.....but we changed the colour scheme, so had to make another one.

Going back to making cards and knitting toys etc....

Come back soon and see what I've made. x

Graduation or Teacher Gifts.....

Morning all, another quick blog today. I've made these small hedgehogs, from a paperback book cut in half. Then I've added eyes, nose, glasses and a mortar board. I can get 4 from one paperback book.
I'm hoping these will sell well nearer the end of the school year.

Bye for now x

These Cactus Plants you cant Kill !!...

Morning all, well here we are's Friday !! Hope you've all had a good "short" week so far.

We had lovely sunny weather here in Kent what better to show on my blog than hand knitted and crochet Cactus Plants !!!!

I've been meaning to make these for a while, and just by chance, a friend gave me a pattern for some of that inspired me to make a start.
All easy to do. I've put them in a small plastic plant pot and filled the bottom with some pellets to weigh them down a bit.

I've added some flakes around the bottom of this it seemed a little lost in the pot.

I'm doing a local craft fair this morning, so will take them along to see how they go.

My eldest son is home for the weekend, as it's my youngest son's birthday on Sunday, so a nice family meal on Sunday has been arranged.

Enjoy the weather (if it lasts LOL !!) and I'll see you again soon. x

Lavender and Lilac .......

Morning all, hope you all had a great Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

Had a lovely lunch on Sunday with my youngest and his girlfriend.

Have made this birthday card, with a new die that I've recently bought. It's by "Jeanine's Art" and is called "Vintage Flowers". It's just one die that cuts the middle piece out, so that it's more like a frame.
I had some hunkydory toppers that I've used the die on, to give me the central part. The "happy birthday" is by Robert Addams.

This will be for one of the ladies in my craft group, who has a birthday soon.

Bye for now  x

Knitted Chevron Cushion for the Lounge.....

Morning all, Happy Easter Sunday.....make sure you eat your dinner before tucking into all those Easter Eggs !!!!

My youngest and his girlfriend are over for Sunday lunch today. Lamb's on the menu followed by Trifle.....then later on Easter eggs and cakes !!

I haven't been about for a while, as been busy completing orders for Easter. I've done a few craft fairs too, and pleased to say they all went well.

In between times, I've been knitting this cushion for my lounge. We changed the colour scheme from green to red, white and silver. So the previous cushions that I made had to be moved to the conservatory (where the dog sits) and new ones made.

This is the first one. It is knitted using double knit wool. The pattern consists of a two row repeat, so didn't take long to get going.

A close-up shows the colours in more detail. The white has a silver thread running through, then there is grey, red and a mottled black.

Really pleased with the results.

Enjoy the rest of the bank holiday weekend, I hope you don't get the snow that is forecast for us all. x
